I got a new 55" LG TV and my old clunky dvd/vhs player was not compatible. I bought this compact DVD player and was pleasantly surprised at the ease of hooking it up as well as the quality of it working. It reads fast and the remote paired up quickly even though the tv is programmed with Dish Network remote. It did well for 6 months and then it stopped. Wouldn't even turn on anymore 😔 False alarm. I plugged it in and it seems to act right again. Yay 😁 2nd update. - nope just a couple weeks later same issue... It will stop working when you plug it in doesn't turn on as normal 😔 Hope this doesn't become the trend... This DVD player worked fine for ten months. It played disks where my other player froze or skipped frames intermittently. Then it began making a grinding noise and shut off. I got it to work a few more times before it died completely. It was not that expensive, so I planned on buying another. However, after reading other reviews, ten months seems to be about the average lifespan of this device. I'm going to consider other options. Read more

I wanted to like this DVD player. I wanted to like it so much that when the first one didn't work out of the box, I bought a second one from the same company, thinking it was an honest mistake. Our goal was to play some Region 2 DVDs through our TV, which seemed fairly simple. The price was substantially cheaper than comparable models, so we took a shot. Twice. About 20 movies in, DVDs just stopped playing. You'd start up the player and see grey lines going across the screen. At first, we thought it was the movie. Then, we realized that all Region 1 DVDs continued to play just fine - it was only the Region 2 (AKA the reason we bought the player) ones that stopped. Needless to say, attempting to contact the company for a resolution is just as likely as winning the lottery, and Amazon refuses to help since it's been longer than their standard return window, so I hope that this review at least helps deter other folks in my situation from making the same mistake that I did. Nice product, nicely packaged and easily set up. I connected to a Roku tv with HDMI cables (included) chose on main screen of tv where I wanted it to appear and that was it. My sound system automatically connected (after turning it on). Plays CDs and Dvd. No problems with either. Good product at an affordable price! Read more

The DVD player works well, and the skip resistant feature works really well. DVDs that had skips on my old player do not skip all on this one. Read more
