Why I Purchased This Product: I got these to wear around when the weather is cooler outside. What I Like: These are thick and comfortable, and the size is pretty accurate to what is advertised in my case. They don’t look too bad, but on close inspection you can tell that there is something different about the pants. I definitely would not wear them to any work related events, but for everyday around town they are fine. They come with regular front pockets, but also have a zippered front right pocket, and the right rear pocket is also zippered. They are advertised as being warm, and that they are! I wore them out when it was only mildly cool outside and started sweating about 30 minutes into my errands, so I would recommend that it be fairly cool / cold outside to wear these pants. What I Don’t Like: The button on the front of the pants seems a little flimsy … almost like I am expecting it to break each time I put the pant on or take them off. So far so good, but I don’t know how long my luck is going to hold out. Value for Money: I haven’t ever bought any other fleece lined pants, so I don’t really have a good point of reference for the price, but to me it doesn’t seem terribly out of line for specialty pants in today markets. Conclusion/Recommendation: As I mentioned above, these are pretty good for running around town or doing chores, but I wouldn’t wear them for actual work. These are not like the images, they are more like a ski pant almost and they are extremely baggy. I usually have no issues with those brand and buy maelreg quite often but these are a hard pass. Read more

If you've never tried fleece-lined pants during the winter months, you're truly missing out. When you put on a good pair, they are not only incredibly comfortable but also warm without making you feel overheated. These pants are thick and comfortable, and they run true to size. However, with winter pants, I like to go a size or two bigger than I'd typically order. They look decent, and, like most of M Maelreg's stuff, they're very minimal. They come with standard front pockets, a zippered pocket on the front right side, and a zippered right rear pocket. Most of the items I own from M Maelreg offer a great balance of quality and price. However, this particular item does not meet the usual standards of quality. It's not terrible by any means, but the buttons and stitching leave something to be desired. While I have owned other fleece-lined pants, the price for these seems reasonable for specialty pants. Read more

21st Century fabrics are here to save us! :) These Maelreg softshell pants are no exception. These are some mighty fine trousers and here in the last two weeks of December, I've worn them 4 times. They're ideal when temps are below 50 degrees out and you don't want to have to wear layers, from 36-50* these things are perfect stand-alone pants. So, they work exactly as advertised in the elements- warm, water repellant, moisture wicking (to an extent), and the color is great. They also fit exactly as advertised, size 32x30 for my 5'10" 175 lb. frame. I think the only way they'd be improved is if they included articulated seams at the knees- then these'd really contend with the best of the best. As-is for the price, definitely a 5-star worthy product. Maelreg is making high-quality gear to compete with the big-name brands. Edit: 30 days later- I still love these pants, but yesterday I got into a somewhat high intensity workout in these, and I was never able to cool off. I was REAAALLLYYY wanting just one zippered ventilation port. I'm not going to knock a star off, but know that if you start to overheat, it's really hard to cool off without just taking the pants off.
