When I was two years old my grandmother was certain I had leukemia because of the intense dark circles under my eyes. (In the Fifties, parents and grandparents were obsessed with fears over leukemia and polio.) I had those dark hollows under my eyes all my years until suddenly in my sixties, the hollows filled in with those inevitable bags. This extreme coverage need has made me try several brands of creams. Because I tended to go too light, the blue bled through even with well-reviewed under-eye cream. When I opened the jar and saw the color, I was concerned. It was a shade of tan I never achieved even in the one college summer school when I tried for a tan. However, I was preparing for a Christmas party after a long stretch of three and four hours of sleep. The circles rivaled a sapphire in color. I tried the Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Concealer because I looked like I was trying out for crowd scenes in a Walking Dead episode. I lay down a thin layer of the darker color and felt it was holding back the blue. However, the shade was noticeably darker than my skin. I then patted on a thin layer of the too-light color I had been using. Somehow, without mixing, I had a good base that did not allow the blue to show. By the time a third layer of my base makeup was applied, I was very pleased with the coverage. Because I had taken care not to overdo the layers, everything looked smooth and normal. Not blue or even blue-ish. People would notice my blue eyes instead of those dark circles. When I came home, one of the first things I did was check to see if an evening's wear in an overly warm room had made the layers run, slide, or gravitate toward lines to emphasize another beauty flaw I was trying to hide. I was pleased to see that all layers had stayed exactly where they had been put. No blue was showing through. Finally, after seventy years, Grandma would have decided I looked healthy after all. Yes, I like the Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Concealer. It conceals gracefully. The anti-aging aspect seems to work too. At the party I got the usual, 'You look really great!' comments, but with a more enthusiastic slant than the casual lie everyone passes around when they haven't seen each other since before the pandemic. From that, I deduced that several people thought I looked better than usual —or even better—better than I should. The anti-aging part is incidental to me. It's the near-death look I am pleased to have conquered. I couldn't have done it without Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Concealer. It did the job for me the way no other concealer has ever managed. This is a review of " Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Concealer" [As a vine reviewer, I am pledging not to be compensated or influenced by the vendor; I state my opinions based on my personal experience without any bias or pressure] This a high-end American made concealer product that I turned over to the queen of beauty in our household. Her review below. "This is a good concealer for my needs (I am very fair complexioned) and the shade 01 was the closest to my skin shade. I found the product to be: 1. Non-greasy : The concealer works well on dry skin and you can get away by applying just one coat. It does not show. This can be used as a foundation too given how smoothly it glides over the skin. 2. Glowing: the skin glows a bit even through the product itself is non-greasy 3. Quality - the product being US-made gives me confidence that the there is enough of a consistency and safe ingredients are in play here 4. Effectiveness: I found the product to work with just one layer for light pigmentation concealing. Two layers is the most you will need But do make sure to match your skin shade to the product shades. Finally, the main tip is that you have to use a good concealer brush to apply the product uniformly. The only down side is the price which is on the higher side.' For the reasons provided above, I think four stars is what this product deserves in my book. Read more

This concealer is a bit tacky. Power sticks to it - sometimes in a good way and other times in a bad, cakey way. I also find it to be more shear than other concealers. If you have darkness, I don’t think this will conceal without multiple coats. I don’t like to use a lot of layers under my eye because things get too cakey. I apply it with my finger after priming my skin. I have tried using it before and after foundation. Because of its shearness, I have found it works best as a brightener under my eyes, post foundation and blending. And then I set it with a translucent powder. I will continue to use, but for the price tag, I won’t repurchase. Read more

I ordered this concealer in shade 01 after deliberating between it and 00. It was hard to tell which one would be a better match. While 01 leans slightly warm and is a little more yellow than I hoped it would be, it sheers out really well and looks like a better match once it’s blended in. It works really well as a color corrector for the undereye area. I have deep tear troughs that can be hard to cover with a lightweight concealer, but also have dry skin and find most heavier ones to make my fine lines and dry patches look terrible. The coverage this one gives is on the light to medium side. It doesn’t completely cover heavy blemishes or dark circles, but minimizes them significantly, with the tradeoff being a natural and somewhat dewy finish that doesn’t make me look 15 years older. It’s expensive, but you do get a large amount of product in the pot that will last for a long time. I recommend trying it if you also have tear troughs or undereye circles but haven’t been able to find the right balance between adequate coverage and a hydrating finish. Read more
