Love these!! They are Chubbie dupes!! They wear, fit, and look the same for half the cost. I have bought green, grey, navy, and khaki. The material is thick and durable. Love the elastic for good fit but love that it has belt loops to elevate the look. Pockets are nice and deep. Everything is just like Chubbies! Read more
These shorts are really comfortable and have a nice relaxed fit. The elastic waistband makes them easy to throw on, and the cotton fabric feels light and soft. The pockets are useful without adding bulk. Great for everyday wear, running errands, or just hanging around the house. A simple, easy pair of shorts to have in the rotation. Read more
TL;DR: Great fabric (smooth, soft, just stiff enough), roomy fit for active summer adventures, front pockets will actually fit a smartphone, look great. 10/10, highly recommended. I had a great pair of seersucker shorts that I found at Marshall's or somewhere like that and loved until, alas, they met an untimely death while moving some furniture around the house. I had been planning to wear them to an upcoming event a few days later, so I scoured the internet for a replacement, but alas again--no seersucker shorts with the right cut appeared. Thus, I purchased these, fully expecting to be disappointed, and honestly assuming that I probably wouldn't really like them very much, because I'm kind of hard to fit (menswear often assumes the lack of glutes and/or quads; I'm a professional ballet dancer, so basically my job is 50% using glutes and quads to launch myself into space and 50% using everything else to lift grown adults). As you can probably tell from the headline, these shorts completely failed to fulfill my (admittedly paltry) expectations. In fact, I'm forced to admit that, dangit, I kind of love them. These aren't seersucker, but they are a crisp, smooth-handed stretch cotton--slightly stiff, but with a comfortable drape (thanks to the 2% lycra/spandex content). They're cool and comfortable even in hot, humid, late-summer weather. I'm forced to admit that they fit better than my aforementioned favorite seersucker shorts, which weren't really cut for someone with serious quads. Best of all, perhaps, my phone ACTUALLY FITS in the pockets without poking me in the hipbone or anything when I sit down or whatever. I typically avoid non-seersucker cotton weaves in summer because I sweat like a firehose and cotton absorbs moisture rather than wicking it, but these are breathable enough to make an exception (think really nice percale cotton sheets rather than sateen cotton sheets--one feels crisp and airy and stays dry; the other's delightfully silky with a nice drape, but if you sweat, you'll wake up soaking wet). The cut is boxy and casual, while the fit is roomy, but not so loose that you'll feel in danger of flashing someone if you decide to kick back in a beach chair (if you have very slender legs, ymmv). I sized up a bit because my lower body is extremely muscular, but I think I probably would've been fine with my usual size. The pockets, as I've mentioned, are great. Like, yes, shorts like these usually have pockets, but I feel like a lot of the patterns for those pockets haven't been updated to reflect the size of the phones we carry. Anyway, these pockets fit my smartphone comfortably without hanging out the bottom hem. My keys and wallet (admittedly, fairly small, since I carry it in my front pocket) can comfortably coexist in whichever pocket isn't holding my phone, or my phone and wallet can ride together in peace. I can even toss a lip balm in there without starting to feel like I'm overloading things. I can even, like, put my hands in my pockets with all that stuff, should need arise! I fully expected the fabric-covered elastic waist to be annoying, but it hasn't actually bothered me. I typically hate fabric-covered elastic waists (except on sweats or joggers--jersey behaves differently than stiffer fabrics), but this one's fine. There's just enough fabric to allow for stretch without a ton of extra bulk. The construction is solid: button firmly sewn on, zipper even and reliable, seams tight and smooth. They look great with a tank top, a t-shirt, or a button-up (or some combination of the above). I wore them to a casual-but-not-that-casual garden party with a nice tank and an open camp shirt and got a ton of compliments on the look, including several on the shorts themselves. I will almost certainly buy another pair of these. Highly recommended. Read more
