Well-Built, Could Use Some USB A Ports

CustomerMarch 6, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Well built and with a great amount of ports. Most notable is the sturdy black USB C connector on the back. More expensive brands have fewer and less useful ports, and the connection to the Mac is a flimsy little cable. UGreen used to make a version like this which I find superior but this is the best I can find at the moment. What could be better: -Remove the HDMI port (there's already one on the Mac and the USB C ports output display signal) -Add USB A ports to the back instead of having to use adapters (since the Mac lacks these) Read more

Nice hub with card reader and extra display outputs

Really pleased with the performance of this hub. I have dual HD monitors connected and a couple USB devices as well. I haven't tried adding a memory chip yet, that's coming up shortly. Read more

Another weird dock that takes 2 rear ports.

Lord Waffle of the Breakfast EmpiresDecember 21, 2025

I don't understand why these things take two USB-C ports. Maybe it's to have two different displays on two different root ports. In any case, it severely reduces your port options for your actual Mac. It's not like you're getting good performance out of the NVMe drive. It's a pretty poor design in my opinion. Read more

Does not put out 144hz DP, poor host cable design. Poor Audio jack quality

Zakarpatsi AynoMarch 4, 2026✓ Verified purchase

It is very rare for me to give a 1 star review but this product definitely under delivered. At first I thought it looked good, aluminum body, paint matched the apple color very well, but that's about it. if there was zero stars that's what I would give, Right off the bat the design engineers slacked off on this one. I guess I should have saw it coming when I saw it occupies 2 thunderbolt jacks, and it doesn't come close to thunderbolt speeds, but I read that before purchasing, what I have a problem with is the product claims it can do 4k@144hz through DP, I have 1 monitor hooked up to DP, and the dock is not sending out 144hz. That's false advertising... then the host cable in the back, it is ridged and wide, my hdmi cable will not go in without putting pressure on my apple hdmi port, which will eventually cause the port to fail being under pressure. If I put the host cable to the 2 left ports away from the hdmi the cable, the host is too short and stiff, which causes the dock to shift away from the Mac mini and it always sits skewed. Yes I align it and in 10 min its skewed... Ok that's just the beginning. I purchased this for multiple reasons and one being the 3.5mm jack on the back, well guess what it doesn't work, it took me about 20 min to make the apple find it and eventually the Mac mini found it... well to only find out the quality is noticeably worse then when I hook it up straight to the Mac mini. BTW I have studio grade headphones... For the money I paid I would at least expect minimal functional quality and usability. I wish there were more reviews as I kinda purchased this blind sighted. I guess if it was a 40 gbps instead of the 10, there would be use for it. since it took both thunderbolts and the audio jack is iffy, I see no point in this hub besides its easier to turn on the Mac mini but that's allot of money to pay for a button connivance. If they redesign this to 40 gbps and the cable is not so stiff then I would buy it just for that, I would live with the audio jack problem but in the current case this is not worth it. Read more
