The 8.5" by 8" base atop the fan area is large enough to contain most any NUC box, not just the MAC Mini, which begs the question as to why this item is marketed solely for the MAC Mini. The 'MAC Mini' logo is etched into the front plexi. This cooler would have a much more marketable appeal were the logo a removable sticker, although I don't really mind the etching that much to complain about it. The construction is sturdy. The fan's mounting screws are recessed so as not to make contact with the NUC case in any way. The base is flat above the fan such that the NUC box rests flat above the fan. My box is the GMKTec K10. The CPU cooling is superb, but the SODIMMs and NVME's do not come with any heatsink cooling out of the box and run hot. I added copper corrugated heat sinks to these components and leave the NUC's bottom cover off such that the SODIMMs and NVMEs are directly cooled by the cooler fan. Works great at bringing temps down by 15-20C, which is crucial for the longevity of NUC boxes. Although the cooler is spendy, it is a sturdy, well made cooler base that will last for the life of my NUCbox and probably future NUCboxes. Read more

This is a solid, durable and efficient cooling fan base for the pre-M4 Mac mini models, especially the Intel ones, since they tend to overheat with intensive tasks such as running virtual machines (which I do). Simply place your Mac mini atop the clear plastic base, over the fan. The fan gains power through your computer, and is connected through a barrel plug to USB-A. Once plugged in, it's somewhat noisy, but very good at helping to keep your computer chilled alongside the built-in fan. (My Mac went from 90-100º F to around 80º.) However, there's no switch to moderate the fan speed, nor can it be turned off through internal controls -- you have to unplug the fan to shut it off. Also, the price point isn't ideal -- it could easily be sold for $30 maximum instead of $48. But overall, this is a good product. Read more

I mean, it fits more than just a mac mini although that is what it is made for. You get good airflow from a single fan, which provides much better cooling that it would have otherwise. It is made of a clear acrylic and is built well and looks good. Comes with a small power supply that baffled me with a barrel jack on one end and USB on the other. This unit does what it sets out to do, keep your mac mini running cool and quiet. The fan itself is whisper quiet as it is not a big, fast fan. It's just right for the job.
