Magnavox DP100MW8B Progressive scan DVD player

I have been buying this brand of DVD player for years, and they are excellent as far as durability goes. There is also little to no skipping and freezing even on scratched discs. Many assume that this product is inferior due to it not being one of the more popular brand names out there on the market, but this just proves that one can sometimes get a superior product at a very reasonable price. Considering how much use this DVD player gets, mine have lasted far longer than I expected (3 1/2 to 4 years). The weight & the size of both the player itself & the remote control make for convenient portability from room to room as well. Although there aren't any TV control buttons for volume, Power On/Off, or Menu Display on this remote like there are for example on some Sony models, this remote does have other user friendly features, such as frame-by-frame Pause & rewind or fast forward, zoom-in feature & Subtitle button right on the manual remote itself, as well a convenient Display button which does show either Chapter time passed & remaining & Total Time passed & remaining on the DVD you are watching. The size of the remote control is good for me as well. I am very impressed & pleased with this brand of DVD player. I would definitely recommend it to other buyers in the market for a DVD player. I BOUGHT THIS DVD Player from an amazon seller. first ofallit wasn't in the original box as i thought it would be, then i saw i came with no extra attatchments such as the jacks to connect in to the t.v. Then to top it off after i had everything connected and set up, the DVD Player didn't work at all. it shows the bluedvd screen but will not load or work to save someones life. i do not reccomend this seller to any buyer. After my father in law's old DVD player stopped working, he wanted an identical one so that he didn't have to learn how to use one all over again. Description had said used or rebuilt, I don't remember which, but it arrived looking brand new and it works fine! Read more

Just got this today and am already using this product. This is a very compact DVD player, which is awesome! It does not take up too much space. Very user friendly! I have another Magnavox DVD player and it is about 10 years old. Magnavox has great DVD players so I chose it again. We will be ordering again! Read more
