Will not play/work

Kelly RainwaterMarch 20, 2024✓ Verified purchase

The media could not be loaded. As shown in the video, the player shows a loader error and will not work. None of the buttons will do anything except eject and on/off. I contacted the customer service and they won't do anything. DO NOT BUY!! Read more

Great Blu-ray Player and Even Better Price.

Mark BJune 10, 2013

I currently work for Goodwill Industries as a donation attendant and this Blu-ray player came in as a donation back in march. I bought it for a little over $13 dollars and some change after my employee discount and tax was added. I have had this player for just under 4 months now and it's been working flawlessly and loads faster then some newer more expensive units. I Googled the model number and it came up as being manufactured in 2008 and even had a some bad reviews. I've never had any problems playing Blu-ray or regular dvd's and my Vizio programmable remote even works perfectly with it as well. All I can say to those who have purchased defective players is that there must of been a certain number of units that were effected cause mine is still working great after 5yrs and I bought it used from work less then 4 months ago. The first movie I watched in the player was Wreck It Ralph on Blu-ray and the picture and sound quality was outstanding through 1080p HDMI... Read more

A perfect fit for old technology.

Brad BurtonApril 5, 2010✓ Verified purchase

I have an "old school" component video input high-definition television along with coaxial audio input to my receiver which supports DTS audio. It was great stuff back in 1999 when I bought it. I found this product at a great price, $88 I think, and it fit my needs perfectly. Now I get high-definition picture quality along with DTS sound through my receiver. A very nice solution to keep me from having to upgrade my whole audio-visual set-up to current HDMI format. There are two negatives to report. One, it makes a humming noise while it is running the disc. Two, it takes a minute to open the disc deck when you hit the eject button. OK it feels like a minute, but it's probably about 30 seconds. Solution one, watch action movies with plenty of audio and you won't notice the background hum. Solution two, whistle a tune to yourself when you are standing by the player waiting to put in a new disc. I find Yankee Doodle fills the gap nicely! Read more

I bought it for myself to watch DVD and BlueRays in my bedroom. It seems to work fine and the picture is good. I was kinda disappointed that the remote it came with was for another player, but it works. Read more

Does the job

Peter OlsonOctober 10, 2009✓ Verified purchase

Pretty good player I have not had any trouble with it to this point. One thin I did notice is that originally I had the video resolution set to 1080p24. I was watching The Dark Knight and a couple times it skipped half a scene after locking up briefly. Since I have changed it to 1080p setting I have had no troubles (outside of a scratched disk causing errors). Overall very good. Read more
