It’s been ages since I was on a skateboard, but my son has taken to skateboarding recently and so I figured I better dust off some old skills. As I recall, part of the fun was also assembling your own board and having a unique look. Getting to pick your wheels, trucks, and decals is a big part of it. This board is a good start, the double tail is a must for beginners, and at my son’s age (8), it feels like a long-board to him anyway, so we can probably put some cruiser/longboard wheels on it as well. Plywood is almost unbreakable anyway, so having the 7 layers on this board makes it feel very strong. I’ve given it a few tests myself so I don’t anticipate any issues for a child. It’s a cool board for him to learn and experiment on and not break the bank. I would have given it a 5 star rating except that ours came with scuff marks on the underside of the board. They’re not superficial and the shipping box was not damaged in any way, so it didn’t happen during transit. It just looks like careless handling along the manufacturing process. Read more

So i want to first qualify my self and my experience as well as skill going into this review. Ive been skating on and off for 20 years, used to skate with sponsored amateur borders. Ive learned and mastered many tricks, done large staircases, big jumps, rails, ledges and vert ramps. Ive been through many boards over the years and have tried many brands. Im 6 foot and 190lbs. So with that preface out of the way let me give my review. I had not really boarded for about a year, my current deck was hashed pretty bad so i started looking for decks on amazon. This deck came up pretty fast, had great reviews and was a top seller and the. And price wasnt bad at all. So i got it, threw some grindking trucks and spitfire wheels on and went skating. Now i wasnt looking to start doing large gaps and stairs again but just focus on my street skills so thats what i did, ollies off small ledges, pop shov its, kick flips, stalls and some ledge grinding. I had about maybe 4 hours of board time on it as of last saturday. i took it out with my nieces and nephews to the slate park and on a ride. About a hour in, i was doing some pop shoveits and kick flips when all the sudden i landed and the tail broke right off! Ive never had this happen doing flat ground tricks and i was very suprised. The quality of the wood is so poor it couldnt handle 5 hours of boarding before failure. My advice for anyone looking at this for a board is save your money go to zumiez or a vans store or any local skate shop buy a blank board from powell, atm, dark, mini logo or any of the blank board companies for 30 bucks youll thank me Read more
A blank with tape for $20. Great deal! Also, I’m not gonna lie to y’all, I’m old. My 15 year old daughter started skateboarding and I took this opportunity to have my midlife crisis and bond with my daughter. While she’s learning to ollie, I’m trying to remember how to “fakie front foot impossible.” It comes as advertised: double tail, eight inch, seven ply blank. I handles like a freestyle board that is good for flat ground and street. The tape that came with the board ain’t bad. It’s close to the dimensions of the board, true, but if you need someone to set your board up, take it to your shop and pay the guy $5 cash to do it for you. I taught my daughter how to tape a board, put trucks on, and change out bearings. Our next project is building a 3’ mini ramp in the backyard. This midlife crisis is way better than a Corvette! The boards themselves are great. Just as described. However, the packaging of the grip tape was HORRIBLE! The gripe tape was damaged and a good portion of it is unusable. Read more
