Super cute but DEFINITELY too big for a toddler or baby lol. Got these for my 2 year old niece & they are adult sized maracas. I would say that a good age to hold these correctly would be 3-4+ probably. I’m sure she’ll like them and her mom will keep them for when she’s a bit bigger or shake them for her daughter at times but definitely can’t be used right now lol! I cannot say enough fantastic things about these maracas! They were just what we needed to complete a Cinco de Mayo theme for our son’s monthly photos! They have an authentic feel with vibrant colors like they came straight from a gift shop in Mexico. Not only were they excellent for photo purposes, THEY ROCK HIM TO SLEEP! I swear, I don’t know what kind of black magic is in these things, but they work like a charm when he’s extra cranky! Just a single maraca tips him over the edge into a hypnotic snooze (we get some type of beat going of course). With that being said, the sound quality is GREAT and apparently soothing. They came with a nice pouch for storage as well. FAIR WARNING: They do have decent weight to them so DO NOT let your little one grab these unsupervised. Not to be mistaken for “play” rattles to avoid any unnecessary clunks. Highly recommend otherwise! Read more
