Purchased the repair kit after getting two bids to repair a chip to a granite countertop that I caused by dropping a pot on the edge of the kitchen sink. The bids came in at approximately $250.00. Followed the instructions and made the repair myself. Product is very easy to work with; just takes a little time to match the granite color. Totally hardened overnight and was easy to carefully sand down to match the countertop. Ended up using a slurry of baking soda/water to match the finish of the granite. Also used the kit to repair two ding’s in the porcelain kitchen tile. Product works great and as long as you take a little time color matching; you really cannot tell where the repair is. Read more
This product works well, but you have to use it with finesse. When tinting, use the toothpick and add about the head of a pin of tint at a time. It's that sensitive. The only drag is that the product takes a full 24 hours to cure before you can sand it and/or add an additional fill, if necessary. I had to, and it required 3 trips to the job: fill, wait. sand, fill. wait, sand. Seems to me they could make a faster curing epoxy mix. But overall, I'm satisfied with the quality. Still recommend. This product exceeded my expectations. The kit included everything needed to make a near flawless repair to my marble shower tiles, which had some cracks and pitting. The worst damage to the tile was a chunk missing on a conspicuous corner (see before & after photos). The epoxy patch was easy to color match, since the tile already had a variety of tones in it. Swirling multiple colors in the patch made it blend beautifully. After 24 hours, the epoxy felt as hard as the stone. The supplied sandpaper took only a few seconds to level and blend the patch so that it would be imperceptible unless you were trying hard to find it. I'm so glad I chose this slow-dry epoxy repair kit over the UV-activated acrylic repair kits I also considered. I wasn't in a hurry and so waiting a day for the epoxy to cure was no problem. I can see where it would be best for opaque granite. Given the translucency of marble it’s much harder to emulate as this is a solid white paste ( clear/transparent epoxy would be better). At best you end up with a fill that is a solid color. Note the black goes a long way to make grey so you only need to dip your toothpick in slightly. You can always add more. Color wise it’s fine for small cracks but doesn’t give you the marbling you’d want unless you don’t mix it. It’s helpful to have a lot of patience— using perhaps the toothpick to “scroll” veining through your patch. It is super sticky so have extra gloves and wet wipes/rags to clean up. Do a thorough taping job before you get started so ensure the epoxy goes only where you want it. Deep chinks on edges would probably benefit from several days of multiple application in order for the epoxy not to drip downward if it’s on a vertical surface like the edge of your counter. Overall it doesn’t work for marble as there is no translucency and on the carrera marble looks like a patch of gray putty. Read more
Super easy to use. Applied first application in less then 5 minutes to 2 deep vein cracked marble floor tiles. Took 12 hours to cure before first sanding and 2nd application. Made repairs in different mixed colors to best blend with heavily patterned sage green marble, can’t even see where the cracks were. Buffed out final sand. I’m amazed and thrilled with the repair. Just a tip that may or may not work for you….i used a razor blade to remove excess epoxy from the repair area for easy excess product removal before sanding the targeted cracks. My razor did not scratch the tiles so it made my cleanup super easy. A+ product. Read more
This is actually a pretty decent product. It was fairly easy to mix. I only give it four stars because it definitely does not look like stone when it’s done, it looks like resin. But for our purposes it served us well and it looks better than a giant chipped corner. The chips that we filled in on the back of the marble vanity look pretty decent. You’ll see in the photos that you can tell it’s been filled in, but it’s not super noticeable. I like that you can mix colors to match. You do have to set molds for it if you’re using it on edges because it will be soft and runny until it’s cured. It’s pretty darn strong once it’s cured. Read more
This stuff worked great to fix a few chips I had on my white floor tiles, a black granite countertop, and a marble ledge in my bathroom. The kit comes with colors, so you can match the color to what you need. I would recommend this for small chips. I am sure it would work on larger areas as well, but I did not have any of these.
