Perfect Product In Every Way. Functions EXACTLY as Expected.

1. Other reviewers said the plastic adapters for Olympic Weights don't fit. They do. I have all new CAP 2" Olympic weights and they fit the plastic adapters perfectly. There must be something wrong with the other people's weight plates. 2" is 2" is 2". In addition, the idea of using plastic adapters perfect. This way I can store Standard dumbbell weights on some spindles and Olympic weights on others. 2. Sturdy. Sturdy, sturdy, sturdy. Well-designed stand, takes up minimal room and is solid as a rock. Of course put your heavier weights lower. You can make *anything* unstable if you put enough weight up high. 3. Easy to assemble. I did it alone without trouble. All parts labeled and easy to find. I had one single washer left over. 4. Matches my Golds Gym XRS 20 as if it were an accessory to that product. 5. Top rack/pan has a serious non-skid bottom. Almost like roofing. Nothing moves on it. I immediately put my grip exercisers, juggling balls, etc., on it. Love it!! 6. Plenty of room for all the dumbbells I will need. I have some fixed weight dumbbells and star-wheel dumbell handles that take standard weights. So darn nice not having to pick them up off the floor. There is not much more I can say, except to the designers and industrial engineers, and manufacturing team: Bravo! Read more

Stable and secure rack

I bought the version of the rack with two "shelves" and 8 side slots. It was very simple to put together (my 8-year-old wanted to help me and even he was saying how easy it was!). It came with everything needed to install the hardware, although I did choose to use my own adjustable wrench to hold the nuts in order to tighten the bolts with the allen wrench. After reading reviews, I chose this rack because the free weights I have are the hex kind; they all fit anywhere on the rack. I also liked how the side slots are open in between with enough space that a barbell can be picked up with one hand, unlike other racks for sale where a person would need to hold each end of one barbell (using both hands) to remove it or put it on the side of the rack. I didn't notice any strong odors from the rack or the packaging. The unit was very stable once all the bolts were tightened. It looks like it will hold up for a long time. *Update: I have bought a few heavier sets of dumbbells and noticed that dumbbells 20 lb or over will not fit on the sides slots if you try to set multiple weights of that size (or more) right above or beneath them. So you could space heavier weights with an empty spot between them or you have to use smaller dumbbells to go above or beneath the ones 20+ lbs. On the horizontal rack, two 35 dumbbells take up enough space that they must be paired with 15 lb (or lower) dumbbells. I won't be able to fit a set of 30 lb and 35 lb together on the same horizontal rack. Still a great rack, but it might take some finagling to figure out the best positioning for each set of dumbbells so they can easily be removed and put back. It can fit about 8 total pairs of varying-weight dumbbells. Read more

Compact and Sturdy Dumbbell Rack for Home Gyms

he Marcy Compact Dumbbell Rack DBR-56 is a practical storage solution for organizing free weights in a home gym. Its steel frame feels solid and stable, and the angled design makes it easy to load and unload dumbbells of different sizes. Despite its compact footprint, it holds a surprising amount of weight, helping keep workout areas tidy and safe. The rack assembles quickly and doesn’t take up much floor space, making it a good fit for smaller gyms or multipurpose rooms. The powder-coated finish resists scratches and adds durability, though like most compact racks, it may not accommodate very large dumbbells. Still, for standard sets, it provides dependable support. Pros: The steel frame is sturdy, the compact design saves space, and the angled tiers make weights easy to access. Cons: It has limited capacity for very large dumbbells, the footprint may feel small for heavy lifters, and the rack can wobble slightly if overloaded. A strong and space-saving dumbbell rack that keeps free weights organized and accessible. Ideal for home gyms where space is limited but durability still matters. Read more

Surprisingly strong and sturdy

Overall this is a great rack. Well worth the cost, stable, strong and doesn't take up much room. Its very surprising how strong and stable this is, especially considering how narrow it is. I have about 600 lbs on this and it seems like I could easily add more without any issues. The tray at the top is nice. My girlfriend uses ankle weights and this is a perfect place to put them. One drawback is the dumbbell rack is now adjustable. It fits most weights, but the very small ones such as 5 lb ones are a bit too narrow. I ended up hooking those on the back side and resting the dumbbell on the front bar. It works, but not ideal. For the cost though, this is a very minor thing. The 8 lb weights do fit fine, so really it's just the very small ones which could also go on the top tray if I was hard pressed. I have heavier dumbbells in excess of 45 lbs which go on with no issue or feeling of the rails flexing. ASSEMBLY: This was easy to assemble, just keep in mind that like most things, you don't tighten each bolt or screw until the very end, just loosely assemble than at the end go back over everything and snug down. Some people claim that not all pegs are usable for loose weights, note that they assembled it wrong. Each side gets one Left and one Right. So each side will have a high peg and a low peg. If you have two pegs side by side, you have it wrong! Read more
