It will withstand very heavy winds. This is a great tent. If you do all tie downs like you're supposed to, as we do. While camping had more than 1 storm go through (tornadoes a town over once). Many, many people lost their tents and canopies, I mean destroyed. Ours was blowing like crazy but tent never came loose. Water standing all around it and never leaked. Our biggest worry was that their tent would blow into ours and rip it, cause their poles were twisted and blowing around. Highly recommend! Read more

From Skagway Alaska to Zion National Park, this tent has been our home for the past 2 months, and I have zero complaints! Easy setup, easy breakdown. Best expirience was getting caught in a massive rainstorm in Zion. We were in a low-spot and the ground flooded, 4 inches of water on all sides. The underside of the tent was a complete waterbed, but it never leaked once! All the seems held, not a DROP made it inside. We were blown away by how well it heals up. Tips and tricks that I’ve learned regarding this tent: - ALWAYS connect the velcro loops between the rainfly and the polls. Otherwise a small pool of water can form just above the rainfly door and it will drain on your face when you exit the tent. - Buy the Marmot ‘footprint’ tarp designed for the underside of this tent specifically. This is just a good rule to prolong the lifespan of any tent. - There are four vents that can be opened on the rainfly. You should always do this, otherwise condnensatiin can buildup on the inside mesh of tent. - The rainfly has two doors. One side has two vertical zippers, and the other end has one sipper that makes an ark to the other side. The one zipper side looks better, but it has substantially less sealant material on inside and starts to weather with daily use. The vertical zippers have almost x3 the sealant. All that being said, I absolutely love this tent and will recommend it to anyone and everyone. Read more

The Halo series of tents is so awesome we bought two. We originally had the 4P and while it's plenty big enough for myself, my wife and our two dogs, sometimes it's nice to be able to stand up, get dressed more easily, and just have a little more room, so we bought the 6P as well. Being able to stand up fully is a pretty big gamechanger. Both tents have been tested in strong rainstorms, mud, and beach wind and they do amazingly well. Bone dry, but plenty of ventilation if you need it. If you can spring for the price tag, and you have room to pack it, it's a no brainer. These are amazing tents. Read more

Great tent for car camping. I'm 6'3' and since a typical camping trip involves changing from hiking gear to golfing clothes, to mountain biking gear, I wanted a tent tall enough to stand up in. This works, in spades. I like the square floor dimensions - can set up the tent in any orientation. With the nearly vertical walls, has more than enough room for me and my wife, and a ton of gear. Although a large tent, it can be set up by one person. Great ventilation, even with the rain fly on since the entire vestibules (or just their doors) can be tied back. Apparently an upgrade from the previous models, the large main door screen has a zipped privacy panel, so you can leave the vestibule tied back for ventilation AND still get some privacy. Read more

I have used this tent several times now since receiving it. All have been for Scouting events. This thing is a breeze to setup and take down. It held up to a micro burst with snow on my last campout. The thing didn't even budge....yes I had it guyed out. I always do that no matter what the weather. It secures it and also aids with ventilation. I'm 6'4 280lbs and never hit the sides with my head or feet. Plenty of room when I had my son and all of our gear in it. (He's an Arrow of Light and my older son almost at Star). I think we could easily fit 3 of us plus gear in it. Only a 4 man tent if you're average to smaller sized. Only thing I didn't like was when it rained water built up over one of the vestibules because of the halo poles. Could be I didn't have it guyed out tight enough or didn't have the fly quite on the right spot. It wasn't a huge puddle so didn't make me feel negative about the tent. This will definitely be my go to tent for heading out on Scout campouts. I also have a Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 and a Cabelas XWT 12x12 8 man tent for reference. Read more

All in all it is a very nice and roomy tent. It is shaped in such a way that it creates a lot of space inside. I had to return it because it did not satisfy our needs in comparison with our other tent. First, the rainfly doesn’t click to the base of the tent and has to be attached to the ground by the stakes. And there are quite a few stakes what contributes to the set up time. Second, the front vestibule is not roomy enough to hide from the rain when entering the tent. Read more

WHY WHY WHY do these companies use delicate, flimsy zippers on the tent body doors when such a tent is going to be possibly used by families and possibly used a lot!? My Marmot Halo was used a handful of times when the zippers blew. I am an experienced camper of 46 years (actually designed and tested tents). The material is so tight on either side of the zippers that it stresses them and makes it difficult to close, especially if temperatures change to cause the material to contract or shrink. Pitching it "lose" did not resolve this issue. Marmot did warranty it and send an entirely new tent (fly, body, stakes, poles) but we pitched it and can see how these zippers are going to fail too. Too bad they don't just warranty the body (or repair the zippers but this is expensive) because now we are stuck with a useless new fly, poles and more stakes. BTW, the nearest repair place to me was Rainy Pass Repair and they charge $21/foot to replace a tent zipper!!! (that's over $400 to replace 2 door zippers). I'll keep the Marmot but for tough camping where one needs reliability, I bought a Spring Bar tent. Custom out of Utah. My friend has one that is 32 years old and it still has it's original BEEFY zippers. Read more
