UPDATE: 4/10. After 3 weeks of use, the machine has not failed yet. The shots are consistent, provided you're tamp and measurement are the same if you're using the bottomless portafilter. With the pressurized basket, the output is consistent but the flavor is still better using the bottomless basket. Using the metal screen vs paper filter, there is no difference in taste or changes in crema. The crema is thin when using the bottomless filter, as compared to a higher priced machine like the gaggia or breville. But I enjoyed my Long Black and capuccino using this machine. It is a good beginner's espresso machine, UPDATE: 3/20. After a few days of using this, I put 2 Aeropress filters, one on top and one at the bottom and ground fine using my bottomless portafilter. It tasted better and less cleanup. However, I doubled the filters stacked together on top and nothing at the bottom of the bottomless portafilter basket. It produced a better crema and tasted best. I am waiting for my metal screen filter and will update for that. I received the item today. Tested it immediately and so far I like it. Initially I wasn't impressed with the espresso because pushing the buttons for either single or double shots the results were sour to taste and yield were small. HOWEVER, I read the manual carefully this time and found out to get longer shots, press and hold the single or double shot button for 3 seconds. This time it will be your control when to stop the shot. To stop, hit the button again. Another thing to consider is having a burr grinder. I have a Baratza Encore and recalibrated it to adjust my grinds finer. The portafilter size is 51mm so I didn't buy an extra bottomless basket since my previous one is the same size. After the adjusments, the espresso tastes decent but I still prefer my other machine. The steam wand is my favorite. It frothes nicely and heats faster than my old one. I purchased this espresso and latte machine as a house gift. While I particularly like teas, this espresso machine has such good quality it’s a joy to look forward to using. Initially there is a period where you need to break the machine in, and that’s expected and explained. Although there are buttons, the machine appears to be semi automatic as opposed to a Luxury or commercial automatic machine. This is something that most coffee lovers will appreciate in my opinion. My only concern is that the options available for beverages are not as clear, but there are other instructions and videos available. My previous espresso machine was from Mr. Coffee and I prefer this one. Read more

I am extremely satisfied with this espresso machine! We are enjoying the compact size, the streamlined design, and the machine’s quick response time for making both espresso and then immediately being able to use the steamer. The steamer is powerful and quickly creates a lovely foam for coffee and tea drinks. In fact, I’ve had to cut the amount of milk steamed in half since the steamer doubles the amount in a short amount of time. The large water tank also makes using this machine convenient, as it can be used many times before needing to refill the tank. The suction cups on the bottom of the machine make using this machine safe and simple to use as it stays firmly planted on the counter. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a powerful machine to create fancy coffee drinks that takes up minimal counter space in the kitchen! Read more

The media could not be loaded. As someone that was a barista for 10+ years I would say this is pretty good option for a low cost home use machine. I've been using some pre-ground blonde espresso from startbucks and the flavor is spot on. Compared to the commercial machines the shots are a little watery but I think if I had an adjustable burr grinder and was grinding my own beans I could achieve a thicker creama shot. The steam wand works well and the machine doesnt take long to heat up. Only down side for me is that it auto shuts off. Read more

If you're looking for an espresso machine in the lower price range, you're not going to do much better than this machine. I have been using it for about two months now, and I love the crema it makes and the quality if the taste. The maker does do better if you let it preheat before hitting the button to make your espresso. Also, you have to control the heat while steaming milk. It gets hot very fast. I recommend using one of those insulated 16 oz. size wine mugs to steam your milk. It slows down the heating process and it's the perfect size too! If you toggle the steamer dial down a bit while about halfway through, you'll get a perfect, foamy steamed milk. I haven't had it long, so I cannot speak to longevity, but this espresso machine works very well with very little fuss. Use distilled water to maximize time between cleaning. 11/9/23 As a followup, the double shot button stopped working on the day that the 90 day limited warranty expired. I am too disappointed to try to return it for repair, as my experience with repairing espresso machines is poor. I am very disappointed. Update: Mattinata replaced my broken machine!
