Who knew this would save my back!?!?!?! I have a herniated l5/S1 disc and lifting a mattress to make the bed is difficult and getting a good, full tuck is impossible because I can't lift the mattress to get all of the sheets tucked nice and tight. I first make the bed like a normally would, but when it comes to tucking the ends under I sort of hold the loose end of the sheet out like I would to make a hospital corner and run this down that taut edge of the sheet and push it under the mattress tucking it under the mattress. I do that with each of the four sides of the corners to tuck it under. I can get the whole bottom end of the sheet under. It really does remind me of the paddle I had in school to paddle the kids when they needed three good licks to get back in line. The product page states that it is "natural wood", but it feels like the oak my paddle was made from, though the grain of wood isn't oak. It is a good hard wood that will stand up to many uses tucking under my sheets. I also have used it to sort of tuck the paddle into the elastic corner of the fitted sheet and push the sheet under the mattress to get the fitted sheet on. It takes a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, you will not make a bed without it again. Read more
