I have been an Oakley wearer for as long as I have been wearing sunglasses. I thought that they were great until I researched some more. I wanted a certain style and I found Maui Jim. These glasses are amazing. The quality through the lens is much better than my previous Oakley sunglasses. They are a bit heavier than what I am used to, which is because the lenses are actually glass and not a poly-carbonate, but after a day or two, you really don't notice them. The lenses are polarized and do a great job reducing glare. I live in the desert southwest and it is always sunny so a good pair of glasses is a must. The build quality is quite good and they also offer a reasonable warranty. My head is somewhat small so these fit just right. I often find glasses are too large and slip. These have rubber on the nose piece and on the temple which helps with slippage anyway. They came in a nice zipper case and a pouch for storage and cleaning. Arrived 2 days ahead of time so that was a plus! I would say my head is medium/small and the MJ Stingrays I tried on first were slightly large. These fit the bill perfectly. I run with them on and have no issues with fogging, slipping or bouncing around. The temples are thinner so peripheral vision is not affected either. I was worried the extra weight of the glass lenses would be an issue but I can honestly say they feel great. As for the lenses, they are Maui Jims what can I say! The bronze is really nice for cloudy to full sun without being overly amber colored. The only negative I can think of is that it would be nice to have the black frames with the bronze lense option. These are REALLY nice sunglasses. Maui Jim makes fantastic polarized optics. The clarity of the Kipahulu is amazing, and the best of the MJ's I've owned. Great value and price! I'm perplexed by reviews that say these are heavy, but I guess it's all relative. In my opinion, the weight is perfect in that it's barely noticeable. There's just enough weight to let you know these glasses will stay on securely. I'd feel comfortable wearing for all manner of activities- water sports, fishing, boating, hiking, etc... While I would want to add extra security with some sort of retention cord so I didn't lose them, I wouldn't feel too worried if I didn't have one. The flexible sides add extra comfort. Read more
If you wear any other sunglasses, you are making a mistake. These are the clearest lenses, because they are glass not plastic so there is very little or no distortion, and the polarization creates the most vibrant crystal clear range of sight you can imagine. If you try these once, you will hate any other sunglasses you may own. I used to wear Revo sunglasses back in the day, and at $400+ a pop, losing or breaking a pair was ridiculously expensive. These come at half the price or less depending upon the style, and are far better at protecting your eyes and improving your sight. The frame is a matte rubber and very light. Some people complain that these are heavy, but that is because they are glass and not plastic, and the glass is a very thin lens, so it's really not heavy at all. There will be no dents in your nose when you remove these, and speaking of the nose pads, they are very comfortable. The lenses come in grey and bronze. I find the grey amazing for bright sun and glare. I use them when I'm on my boat fishing, and you can see right through the water to the bottom. And talk about brilliant color? You can spot fish and structure by eyeball, sometimes I don't even need my sonar. The bronze are great for haze and driving. Try driving with a pair on during a torrential rain storm, and you will never drive without them again. They cut right through the glare and you can see for several hundred feet better than without them. I go nowhere without a pair. I own both color lenses, as I am in the wild a lot. I left a pair at the bottom of a river in Alaska while white water rafting, there is a pair sitting 2000 feet below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, and somewhere around Sanibel Island there is a pair at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. I have lost several, and won't buy any other glasses but Maui Jims. Having said that, if you're very active buy a head strap to keep them from similar fates. Read more
Maui Jims have been my sun glasses of choice for many, many years. My favorite pair was "lost" at a party so I purchased this pair. The small size is ideal for smaller women but I was a bit surprised by the rubber frame. They're very comfortable and the polarized lenses are great! I would give these a 5 star rating except the case they sent them in was basically a triangular cardboard box that's way too large to carry in my purse. Read more
Today's Maui Jim's are super cheap, not worth it! These slid off my head once and super smashed with hole in it. I had my last pair for 20 years, embarrassing how many times I dropped them and this never happened. This new pair smashed, brought back to store, they said whatever your problem we don't cover it. I have macular degeneration, so I splurged on another pair (because they used to be quality, and I hadn't caught on yet how cheap they now are) This 3rd pair I purchased with the $25 warrantee. Go figure weeks later they still are not shipping the warrantee. No warrantee given. Cheap glasses. No longer worth paying the price for Maui Jim. Read more

Same great glasses but arrived in an annoyingly oversized case. I contacted customer service about an exchange and they kindly sent me the small case that had worked so well for me previously.
