Keto my Ice Cream... Ice Cream with no sugar!

Cathie T.August 31, 2017✓ Verified purchase

After much reading and research I bought this ice cream maker. I love it. No idea why the other color is 20-30 dollars more in price or why some STORES have it on the shelf for 140.00 but I guess thats how the game is played ... I do online surveys at a few places and rolled my points into Amazon rewards so I only paid 35.00 out of the list of 80.00. My first use wasnt glamorous as it was at least 100 degrees (no AC) when I made this and the 40 mins was just enough to make it a wet sloppy mess.... once in the freezer it froze well. The consecutive attempts have all been flawless... ambient room temps in mid 80's... turned unit on while preparing mixture and set the timer for 55 mins... its not scoopable soft serve like for a cone but suits me well for the freezer cups and I will eat the last scoop off the bottom which really is cone soft serve. If I would turn it on for the full 10 mins before use and set timer for the hour the result would be scoopable delight I dont because I need to get product into storage cups for the freezer. Noise level is negligible. Does throw off some consistently warm air... vents do need to be clear. Clean up is easy-peasy Except for the rubber ring surrounding the fixed freezer bowl - that has allowed seepage and I had to cradle unit by sink while attempting to clean not a delight as unit is substantial. I am reaching out to the company to see if this is an issue because the rubber ring is not sealing. Last night I made 2 batches back-to-back and my second batch took less time to reach scoopable consistency as expected. Read more

Easy to use, and makes delicious ice cream!

Linda StrebelJanuary 26, 2019✓ Verified purchase

My husband had only had homemade ice cream once before. And he wasn't a fan. So when I told him I wanted to get an ice cream machine, he wasn't too enthusiastic about it 🤣. And I had never tried homemade ice cream before. But when we made I've cream with this, we both loved it. We love the convenience of being able to make ice cream whenever we want, without having to take up any extra space in our tiny freezer. And we love being able to make lactose free ice cream for our lactose intolerant toddler, and can also make vegan ice cream for my sister. My husband likes the ice cream so much more than store bought ice cream. He says it's creamier and tastier, and he feels he can eat a lot more of it compared to store bought, and he can never manage to put down the tub of ice cream we made because it's so good 😂 My only problem with it is the price. I bought it at $135, but I saw some comments say they got it for $85? So I don't get why the price jumped so high. I am happy with the actual machine though, and I've made about 5-6 batches of ice cream in the past week. Read more

I LOVE this thing

WandaNovember 16, 2017✓ Verified purchase

I LOVE this thing. I have had other ice cream makers that had to keep the inner container in the freezer and this one beats them in every way. I always had a problem scraping the ice cream off the sides of the container with the other ones but this one has a thin little bucket type container and the sides are easy to scrape clean. Very easy to use and very easy clean up. I always let the machine run empty for 10 or 15 minutes while I'm mixing up the necessary ingredients and it takes 40 or 50 minutes to finish freezing to a soft consistency. I just fill my containers and put them in the freezer for a few hours and I have great homemade ice cream for my evening snack. Love it. The price is also fantastic for an ice cream freezer with it's own compressor. Read more

The Home Made Ice Cream Maker was a great Christmas present

PatMarch 3, 2019✓ Verified purchase

I have made about 20 batches of ice cream with no problems. I got the "Ben & Gerry's Homemade Ice Cream & Dessert Book". I used the book to make Vanilla, Strawberry, Peach, Maple Walnut, Butter Pecan. Everybody just loves and it just disappears.. It is just so easy to plug Mr Freeze in and let him go until the mixing blade stops and then I scoop out the ice cream into a 2 quart container and put in the freezer to finish. I only fill the Mr Freeze mixing container half full because it grows and you need to leave room to add the ingredients near the end. You can spell all the ingredients and it just tastes better that anything you can buy. Read more

This thing is surprisingly heavy. Mine came with a removable bucket, which is nice. It works well to make soft serve, but my biggest complaint is you really can't freeze what comes out of it - it will turn hard as ice. You pretty much have to eat it all right after making it. I'm guessing this is the most you can hope for out of this type of tech. None of these things are really ice cream makers, they are all soft serve makers. The motor is weak so it will get stuck and stop turning before it gets hard enough to turn more solid. You can get it a little more solid by stopping it, and quickly scraping the hardened sides of the bucket and stirring that in, but it's a messy process for little reward. Pretty decent overall for the price. Read more

Ice Cream, Ice Cream...We all scream for ice cream!

Livin', lovin', and laughin'!March 26, 2018✓ Verified purchase

It's a winner, and for this price works extremely well for one who'd just as well pass up on all those "unpronouncables". Very little to the process. Just place the metal container with the paddle inside in the freezer for a couple of hours and start up the machine for cool down 10 minutes in advance of the ice cream mix being added. It takes 30-35 minutes for my recipe to complete, and the ice cream comes out light, medium-firm, and ready to eat or place in containers for more solid freezing. My only critique would be the weight, but, then again, burning a few calories prior to my ice cream snack will never hurt! :) Highly recommend this one. Read more

This product was just out right awesome! Very tasty soft serve ice cream. It performed as expected. I was hesitant at first about purchasing from the seller popcorn direct - I am glad I purchase from this seller. The seller is the real deal— product box was boxed inside another box! Thumbs up to the seller and thumbs up for this awesome machine. It’s a lot of awesome I wrote today - sorry but this machine exceeded my expectations for the price. Read more
