(Updated review:) I am changing my review to 5 stars as after correspondence with MaxpeedingRods and going through their checks they have stood up and done what’s right and stood behind their product by replacing our Generator. I believe that there was a fluke issue with the original one and it originally worked 100% only to later loose the electronic start function. I have no reason to believe that this is a systemic issue and think that it was just our luck of the draw to have that issue. The new generator works flawlessly. When a company like MaxpeedingRods stands behind their product we can tell that they are a company that we would like to continue to do business with and recommend their products to our family and friends. For full disclosure I paid for the first generator out of pocket full price and with the issue and going through their resolution they replaced it. I am going through their support for the last week with limited effective responses. If this changes I will change my review to 5 stars but at this point the electric start has failed and they are sending me thru the same tests multiple times. When it arrived everything worked flawlessly and now only the electronic start functions do not work and I eagerly want a resolution but so far I’m just getting scripted responses from the app at first and now via email. We purchased the MaXpeedingrods 4000 watt dual fuel inverter generator in June of 20025 specifically for camping and fill in at home in winter when the power occasionally goes out. The generator had performed fine through the summer and other than being a bit louder than the Honda we also have, it did well through the summer. Now came winter of 2025, we store the generator in the garage that gets down to about 40 degrees when it is below freezing. Our power went out in December and when I went to start the generator the battery was dead. After much research and sweat, I found you are unable to start the generator using the pull cord when there is no electrical power, What good is it, I don't know. So I have spent a lot of time trying to recharge the battery with no success. I have spent even more time tying to find a replacement battery. I still have not been able to contact anyone that can help me. I can see the battery inside the case. I have not tried getting it out, since it looks like it will take some doing. But I can see that it is a very small battery with a specific connection coming out of it that connects to the starting mechanism on the generator. So basically I have a useless generator that has roughly 30 hrs on it. I could pack around a larger battery that would set next to the generator and connect it to make the generator function, but that is definitely not ideal. I would have a much better review if the battery would not have went bad so quickly and then being unable to replace it. Read more
