With some baking soda and cream of tartar, you never will find yourself without baking powder. Both ingredients are shelf stable for ages and baking powder is not. 1 part baking soda to 2 parts cream of tartar = baking powder. Don't make more than you need and you'll not have it go south on you. Read more
