Stretches out

This is a good product but stretches out very easily. I like that it can be cut to any length you may need. Read more

Perfect for additional coverage of dressings and protection from exposure!

LunaOctober 23, 2023✓ Verified purchase

The 3 inch width of tubular stockinette is great for keeping the gauze dressings on my arm in place and protected. I wear it on my arm (from wrist to upper arm). For reference, the circumference of my wrist is almost 7 inches and the widest part of my arm is almost 14 inches, and this stockinet was comfortable to wear. From my experience there's no compression on my arm due to this product, which is perfect for me since I wanted coverage and protection (instead of compression). It's more like I'm wearing a flexible, form-fitting long sleeved shirt. The stockinette stretches generously but since there's no true compression, multiple uses or overly extended wear of the same piece may lead to a fit that's too loose. The stockinette stays in place for the most part; the end on my upper arm will occasionally slide down with movement but it's not too much of an inconvenience to pull it back up. I have a healing infection on my arm and this is my current process: - clean and prep the site - apply gauze pads and secure in place with medical tape or coban wrap - cut the tubular stockinette to size and wear like a long sleeve from wrist to upper arm The amount of product is generous and in the 2 weeks or so since I began to use it, I've only used about 1/3 of the stockinette roll. I change the stockinette on my arm twice daily to make sure it is clean and free from drainage that may seep through the wound dressings. Although I suppose I could hand wash these (or place in a netted bag on a gentle wash cycle) and hang dry to get more use out of them and extend the life of the roll. Since the stockinette is cut to size with scissors for each new use, fraying does occur at the raw edge but one might be able to pre-cut the necessary lengths of material and sew the raw edges for neater appearance and reuse after washes. I wish there was a sterile version of this product available. Or at least if Medline would consider wrapping the stockinet itself in a sealed bag (or if the outer box was sealed by Medline with shrink wrap). I received a clean product box with the rolled stockinette tube inside, but the lid of the box had come undone in transit (there was no tape to secure the box shut). The stockinette was exposed a bit inside of Amazon's packaging, so having these wound dressings in something better sealed from outside elements would make me feel more at ease. I ended up unrolling and cutting off about 24 inches of material before I used the wrap to cover my arm. Overall 4.5 stars and I'd still buy again if necessary! Read more

Good for about 2 washes

Lymphedema . Needed something without too much restriction. May order again. Brand new they're near perfect. But it stretches out quickly. Quick cheap and adaptable quick fix for that purpose. If anyone knows of a similiar product that doesn't stretch out so quickly a reply would be appreciated. k thanx Read more

Game Changer For Walking Boot!

MarylynAugust 29, 2023✓ Verified purchase

Having to wear a walking boot for a few weeks (I hope only a few weeks), I went home with one of these and thought I could simply use socks in the following days. I found my toes cramped and the top of the boot rubbing uncomfortably. I put the original tube liner on and realized that a loose fitting very long tube actually lined my walking boot much better than any sock I could wear. So I bought this 25 yard roll. I cut off a longer length than I think I need... it gets shorter when I put it on, and have it hang over my toes (then i fold it under loosely) and the top of the boot. This is so much better than socks! I will try to throw the used ones in the wash but for now I will just cut off a new piece each day. Soft, stretchy, great liner for my walking boot. Read more

Great Walking Boot Liner!

Lewis BrowneJanuary 11, 2024✓ Verified purchase

I am not sure why others gave this product a poor review. I broke my leg a few weeks ago and just got moved from a splint to a removable walking boot. This product is perfect for a cut to length sock that you can put wear under the walking boot. The quality is perfectly fine. The material is exactly what you expect. It is comfortable and durable enough for its intended purpose. Just cut it to length with scissors and use what you need. 25 meters should last quite a while. Don’t let the negative reviews confuse you. If you are like me with a broken leg, this is the product that you need. Read more

It's NOT cotton!

Sandra LimpertJanuary 21, 2024✓ Verified purchase

I have a lot of skin allergies. A LOT. I bought this because I have lymphedema and so I compression wrap a couple of times a week or more. The first roll of this I bought wasn't too bad, but this second one is a nightmare. After just a few hours, my legs start itching really bad, so that I have to remove the compression bandaging. I've noticed that when I do, my legs have an itchy, raised, pimply red rash. The only thing that's close to my leg is this bandage. I'm not allergic to cotton, which is why I bought these. I was suspicious when the product came in a plain white box with no information on it, but I used it anyway. I thought maybe I had developed an allergy to cotton, but I can wear cotton stockings with no problem, so the only explanation is that these are not cotton. I see from the reviews here that some people say they're polyester. I also am allergic to latex and many products that have elastic in them, so that could be another consideration. My guess is that either this isn't a true Medline product - the nurse at the clinic said she never saw a roll come in a plain white box that has no information or labeling on it - or it's the wrong product I was sent, or Medline has changed it's formula. Either way, I can't wear these and I'm pretty miffed about it. Read more

Great for after foot surgery care

Helen L.August 3, 2018✓ Verified purchase

We used this product after my son's foot surgery. It keeps the dressing in place before wrapping his lower leg in undercast padding and finally in stretchy bandage. This 3" size is a semi-snug fit on my 13 year old son's (5'5" 100 lb.) foot & lower leg. It really keeps his dressing in place without constricting the blood flow. His surgeon uses a 4" stockinette which is a bit loose but still doable. If you are an average size adult, the 4" is probably a better option. The material is soft and feels nice next to the skin. It is affordable enough that we throw it out after after each use rather than wash & reuse. (The material does not stretch back to its original shape so it's really a one-time use product.) We have so much left that we plan to use this tubing for arm covers for t-shirts on cool mornings. Read more
