I'm not really sure how I feel about this. I docked a couple of stats because the flame is super inconsistent and worse it flames out randomly, both by dying down and by flaring out. When the flame goes out it actually squirts of streams of butane on the higher flame levels. When ti works the flame is quiet and clean. The igniter works every time and has a nice lock feature to lock it both lit and when storing. Filling with butane is super messy and there is no window to let you know if it is full. Have a hard time recommending this, even at the good pricing, because you never really know what you're going to get when you click it on and I'm not confident that it is particularly safe. This is a pretty good lighter. I tried filling it up with stove butane at first and that didn't work but the "lighter" butane bottles you get at the store did. It comes empty which makes sense as there's restrictions on shipping something with fuel inside. After filling it up, it was running in no time. The flame goes from "barely lights a candle" to blowtorch so a good range of flame size. I'm knocking it a star as it is a bit clunky to use. There's no ergonomics on it at all, so it does feel a bit uncomfortable to use. It has a smaller form factor than the Bic lighters, so it can store better than they can, though. Read more

Will be carrying this in my camping bag as a backup to our blowtorch! Edit dropped to 1 star due to being unsafe.: I found a major design flaw with this lighter. The switch is very loose and can easily be pushed when sitting in a bag. There is nothing holding the switch in place when it's locked and it can slide out of place. I've also had the switch get stuck when I try to unlock it from the on position. Read more

When this works right, it does a great job, but the flame can sometimes blow itself out, which is kind of annoying. However, my biggest gripe with this lighter is the button, which is designed to be able to be locked in the "on" position. The problem is that once it's locked on, sometimes it is difficult to get it to turn off again, and the last thing you want to do is to wrestle with a button that won't turn off while there is a blow torch going near your hand. I have tried to fill this torch in all the ways, with the butane can vertical and horizontal, upside down and not, but it seems there is no way the butane will go in, or maybe the butane is in the torch but the flame is not coming, it stays for a second and than disappear. does not work for me.
