Works well for hard and soft fruits and vegetables. Have put apples, carrots, beets, cucumber celery, kale, tomato, and ginger through it so far, and it handled all of them without problem. Very quick and easy to assemble and disassemble. Extraction seems more efficient than a centrifugal juicer, which is the only kind I'd used previously. It's somewhat slower than a centrifugal juicer,3-5 minutes to make a 16 oz glass of juice, but that time is completely made up for in the ease of cleanup. The large majority of the pulp is ejected (you can use the included cup to catch it, but you're free to use anything that will fit under the exit chute), so no tedious dumping and cleaning it out of the sieve basket like a centrifugal juicer. There are more parts, but two minutes and a sink with warm soapy water and you're done. Seems very durable. And it's definitely a more peaceful experience using it than the wood-chipper level noise from a centrifugal juicer. Would recommend, makes high quality juice for a small fraction of the cost of buying bottled fresh-squeezed or ordering at a juice shop. Read more
I decided to try juicing to see if it would make a significant difference in my lifestyle. After reading reviews for 31 juicers in and out of my desired price range, I decided on this one. I really wanted an Omega or Hurom but decided it would be much smarter to start off with one that isn't as expensive that has a good reputation for getting the job done. I've noted that the "Megawise" is the same machine rebranded several times and also took note of the fact that no matter what it was branded it has solid reviews - so that's where I landed. This machine is easy to set up (intuitive), the instructions are good if you need them, and it doesn't take up that much counter space (I guess that would depend on your counter). It juices very well - pulp was pretty dry, feeds nicely (I rarely use Reverse), is easy to clean (between 5 - 13 minutes, depending on if I want to run a sink of soapy water or simply soap up the sponge and brush and clean it under hot running water. The parts feel solid, it has a nice weight, and I enjoy using it. I've juiced greens (spinach, kale, chard, dandelion greens, mint) and got good juice from them. I've also juiced tomatoes, grapes, blueberries, pineapple (all the time), oranges, lemons, grapefruit, carrots, beets, celery, cucumber, pomegranates, and a few other things I can't remember right now. It's handled everything easily. The trick with the softer fruits and vegetables is to let the chute clear and not load it up. Also, it's good to follow with a complementary harder fruit or vegetable. So I've now been juicing for 5 weeks consistently and have easily decided that I will keep it up. I've lost weight (not what I was trying to do but I'll take it), lowered my blood pressure, and just overall feel more energetic and astute. I bought this one planning to upgrade to one of the "name brands" if I decided to keep it up. I may buy an Omega vertical but I'm keeping this one and using it until it decides it no longer wants to work for me. It's a worthwhile purchase with far more benefits than I expected. Before I started I watched a youtube video. I'm glad i did. That helped with use and expectations. I was not very thrilled with the "appeared" weakness of the mechanisms both on youtube and in person. BUT TRULY, when I had completed the juicing, It really was successful. I made 2 full cups of juice. The juicer is NOT weak at all. FIRST TIME USE: The vegetables did not go in without a battle though. They clung to the sides of the tunnel like rubber. The depresser didn't seem to press down all the way. It seems I will have to learn better how to feed it. 2ND AND 3RD USE- much better. I learned the technique to feed the hopper. Must make longer strands of most vegetables. having a celery stick for helping to push certain ones through helped better than the pushing tool. Juicer actually works very good. 3rd try I REinserted the dry pulp to see if it would extract a bit more. it was easy to do and extracted a bit more. The pulp at the end was quite dry and I could not squeeze out any more liquid. So, it did it's job. The juice tasted quite good and I was happy with the fact that it did not separate nor was it filled with bubbles. I used celery, swiss chard, cabbage, lemon, parsley, collard greens, broccoli, and cilantro. The heavy thick greens and cabbage were the hardest to feed into the machine and got stuck. Overall i will say the machine worked and the juice was really perfect. I've not tried any other machines so I cannot compare. IT WAS EASY TO CLEAN, EASY TO PUT TOGETHER AND EASY TO TAKE APART. If the spinning part grabbed better, it would have prevented the vegetables from ever getting stuck. I think that's an area to improve. the black spinning part slipped rather than grabbed. in some cases. 2ND AND 3RD TIME experience helped. However, the hopper seems to be the only possible issue. It still worked very good though! TRULY Again, the product is definitely better than GOOD. We'll say VERY GOOD. I think for the price, the product is definitely worth getting. I will use often. It was so easy to clean So that makes it a winner. Bought on March 20, 21, June 10th the filter part that juices is broken. cracked. It's plastic. I immediately contact Megawise and they are sending me a replacement. I'm impressed with their willingness. Good company Read more
