I saw a post where someone had consumed a metal bristle from a grill brush and it listed all the health problems they had as a result and I was DONE with our metal bristle grill cleaner! I bought this as a Father's Day gift and when our son arrived for dinner, he said "Oh! I've been wanting to get one of those!" so I knew I was on the right track. It's surprisingly easy to use, very sturdy, and cleans the grill quite well with minimal effort. You get the pad wet and apply a little pressure after removing food from the grill (we do this while the meat rests). Soon, the grates of the grill are super clean. The metal edge helps remove the more stubborn parts. There are extra pads and they can go in the dishwasher. They've thought of everything. I bought the Meker Grill brush because I used a wire brush and didn't want any problems with the wires coming off into my food. The Meker bristle free grill brush comes with 5 pads that is easy to put on and off with velcro. Like the fact I can clean the pads in the dishwasher. I have a Weber grill with cast iron grate. This unit does a beautiful job cleaning the grate. I use a clean pail with water to rinse the brush, which I think is better than a dish. I was a little concerned at first that excess water would run into the grill's holding tray. Not an issue. I can't speak to it's durability (which I'm thinking will be fine), but this is by far the best grill brush I've ever ownd. Read more

The steam worked well, but because there were no bristles, it only cleaned the top, not even the sides (in between the grates). It needs too be more abrasive, possibly with deeper bristles. Otherwise, it just cleans the top. Wear a grill glove! It will burn your hand Read more
