Honestly, worth the splurge.

This is one of my favorite snapbacks ever. I unfortunately, quite literally, have a big head and that makes it difficult to find caps that fit well. The Melin A-Game comes in XL thankfully and I love the way it looks, feels, and its resistance to both sweat and stains. It's super breathable and comfy to wear for a round of golf or a day at the beach. I've tried dupes before before, but the quality is honestly different. The only thing I'd change on this is the price... $69 is a lot to pay for a cap. But I have a feeling this one is going to hold up for a long long while. Read more

Find the model that fits your head.

Great hat! It’s a bit smaller and rounder on the top, which futs my head perfectly! Read more

I was super skeptical

Yes, it's expensive, yes I was doubtful. It started with one...now I own 3...do they stain eventually, eventually if you sweat in them, yes...can you wash them and they look good afterwords, yes...are they awesome of you have a big head, yes...are they less hot to wear than most hats...yes.... albeit, you are wearing a hat..but its better than most temperature wise..are they built like a tank....yes..you can tell the quality is high compared to most....will it change your life? no..maybe, if you're life is about hats....is it worth the money? yes...give one a try...all shall be revealed. Great Cap With Two Fatal Flaws

These really are thoughtfully designed and beautifully constructed caps. The color was awesome. I can see why so many people love them. Sadly, though, I had to return mine due to the inexplicable inclusion of an insignia/thumbhold on the underside of the brim. When wearing the cap, my eye was continuously drawn to the thumbhold (which is raised a few millimeters). Not only was this distracting, it literally gave me a headache and made the cap unwearable for me. I know that this has been a problem for others, as well, to the point that many choose to remove the thumbhold (leaving an ugly mark on the underside of the brim). The inclusion of this "feature" seems to me to be a "solution searching for a problem" (does anyone really worry about a thumb sweat stain beneath their brim from taking off their cap?) that actually ruins the cap. I'd suggest it be deleted. The second flaw is that the brim is too small. For adults with normal to large heads, it simply doesn't do the job shading the face as it is too narrow. For a smaller person or perhaps a female, this is probably actually a great fit, but for me and my average male head and face, it is far too narrow. Read more

Melin A-Game Hydro – The Last Hat You’ll Ever Need to Buy

If you’re tired of "disposable" baseball caps that get ruined by sweat stains, lose their shape after a rainstorm, or sink to the bottom of the lake, the melin A-Game Hydro is a revelation. While the price point is higher than your average snapback, the technology and durability packed into this hat make it a legitimate piece of performance gear. Why It’s Worth the Investment The A-Game Hydro is designed for people who live active lives—whether that’s golfing, boating, hiking, or just surviving a humid summer. Hydrophobic Technology: Water and sweat literally bead off the surface. Unlike cotton hats that soak up moisture and become heavy and yellowed, this stays dry and clean. It Floats: This is a lifesaver for boaters or paddleboarders. Thanks to the buoyant visor core, if it blows off your head, it stays on the surface for easy retrieval. Anti-Microbial & Breathable: The triple-quilted sweatband prevents bacteria buildup (no "old hat" smell), and the perforated side panels keep your head remarkably cool. The "Secret" Pocket: There’s a small, hidden besom pocket inside the lining—perfect for stashing an emergency $20 bill or a key. Key Takeaway I used to go through three or four cheap hats a year because of sweat, salt, and fading. I’ve had my melin for over a year, and it still looks like it just came out of the box. It’s the ultimate 'buy it for life' accessory for anyone who spends time outdoors. Read more

★★★☆☆

High quality, but inconsistent builds.

I've had mixed experiences with Melin. My first black hat was perfect. They are the thickest most robust hats I've tried and have better build quality than the cheaper alternatives on Amazon that seem similar in photos but not in person. However, the recent order wasn't quite right. The sewing on one wasn't as tight and had a fat crease look on the front left. The sizing wasn't equal and one was close while the other was a full notch bigger. Both made my head look too big as the front part seems larger than my first Melin hat. Even as tight as it goes that wouldn't go away. One was closer than the other at least. Sad to send both hats back as the general thickness and quality otherwise is great. So, I may try them again in the future, but I wish I could try it on before I buy it. If I could try them first I'd definitely go for it so I could whittle down the oddly sized ones and find the right fit and sewing job. At $80 I'd hope for better QC on sizing and consistency between hats. Read more
