We purchased the Melissa & Doug First Bead Maze for our then 7-month-old who was recovering from major surgery. This toy has been a lifesaver, providing both entertainment and developmental benefits during a challenging time. The Pros: High-Quality Materials: The toy is made from durable, high-quality materials that can withstand rough handling. Excellent Suction: The suction cups are fantastic and stick firmly to the high chair tray and other hard surfaces, ensuring the toy stays in place during playtime. Interactive and Engaging: The colorful beads and various activities keep our infant engaged and entertained. It’s great for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Safe for Babies: The toy is safe for our baby to handle, with no small parts that could pose a choking hazard. Cons: None So Far: We haven’t found any downsides yet. It has met all our expectations and more. Our baby couldn’t do tummy time post-surgery, so we needed a toy that could keep them entertained while sitting up supported. This bead maze has been perfect. It’s interactive, colorful, and keeps our little one busy, helping pass the time in a fun and engaging way. The suction quality is particularly impressive, as it ensures the toy stays put on the high chair tray and other hard surfaces. Compared to other toys we’ve tried, the Melissa & Doug First Bead Maze stands out for its combination of quality, suction power, and engagement. It’s a step above similar toys in terms of durability and design. Overall, the Melissa & Doug First Bead Maze is a fantastic toy for infants, especially those recovering from surgery or who need to be kept in a seated position. The suction quality, interactive design, and high-quality materials make it a worthwhile purchase. I highly recommend this toy for any parent looking to keep their baby engaged and entertained. I really love this wooden toy — it has a very vintage, old-fashioned charm, and I appreciate how simple it is. Our baby has been playing with it for about two months now (he’s 11 months old), and it keeps him nicely occupied, especially during meals when he gets a bit distracted. It’s solid and well made, and the pieces stick together properly, which is exactly what matters for this style of toy. Nothing feels flimsy, and it has handled daily use without any issues. Final verdict: A sweet, sturdy, classic wooden toy that keeps our baby engaged. Very happy with it. Read more
I’ve had this for 4 months now and my son doesn’t get tired of it. He plays with it for so long he loves it. Even though it has four suction cups, it’s strong enough to stick with two of them to my skip hop activities center. 10 out of 10. Great product. Read more
This bead maze is a fantastic toy for early development. It’s the perfect size for babies and toddlers—sturdy, colorful, and easy to grip. My child loves moving the beads along the wires, and it keeps them engaged while helping with hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. The build quality is excellent, with no sharp edges and a solid base that doesn’t tip over. It’s simple, safe, and educational—everything a first toy should be. Highly recommend for babies 6 months and up. A classic toy that never gets old! Read more
Good sturdy toy for baby. I bought this for my 9 month old and he loves it. We suction it to his tray of his high chair while food is being prepped and it keeps him entertained for a long time. It doesn’t suction to some surfaces however. It wouldn’t stick to our floor. But it would to a table. Read more
