an excellent bunkie board. the board comes in two finishd sections . each section unfolds to fit on the top of one half of your box spring. i installed this queen size board on top of a new low-profile metal box spring assembly. the rubber high-friction fabtric on the bottom the board prevents it from sliding or shitfing, once the mattress is placed on top of it. its dimensions are true, and it fits the box spring perfectly. you can hardly see it once the mattress is placed on top of it. it defintiely helped maintain the firmness and support i wanted from my matress by avoiding matress sag between the box spring supports. this bunkie board is made of quality materials and is very durable- so it may possibly outlive your mattress. It was hard to believe that something so lightweight and low profile was going to work...but yes, it does :-) Other than having to heft the mattress off, putting this on the bed frame was a snap. The silicone dots on the bottom did keep it in place on our frame's wooden slats while we shimmied the mattress back on, so that was a big win. I had my husband hop on the bed while I looked at the underneath, and voila: nice and flat, no mattress sagging between slats. It was also easier to put sheets on since they don't catch on the slats anymore. I thought this was a bit spendy for its construction materials, but it works exactly as described. I've seen people say that you can get a similar quality bunkie board at a fraction of the price, but I disagree. I looked everywhere and if you want to pay less you'll either have less size options (I needed twin XL), OR you'll end up with something that isn't an actual board and it's just a bunch of widely spaced slats which defeats the point of adding support for the mattress. This one may be expensive but at least you know you're getting an actual board that will give you the support you need. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because while the board DOES grip the frame enough so that the board itself won't move.. there's no grip for your mattress, so your mattress will likely move around a lot. Without the bunkie board, my mattress didn't move at all, as my frame had pretty good built in grip. That's the only con I've noticed so far. I'll update my review if it breaks or something, but otherwise it gives great support and I don't regret my purchase. Read more
Adding this Bunkie Board to my bed sure made a huge difference. It added stability and the mattress no longer slides around as the covering keeps it in place. It is quiet too, no noise from adding it at all. I know this will definitely increase the longevity of my mattress as it adds structure and fits perfectly. It is easy to put in place as it comes in two sections and does not move once laid in place. Shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. This was a perfect solution to our sagging mattress! I made the mistake of replacing our box spring with a slatted platform. The spacing was too far apart on the platform and this was a perfect solution! We are sleeping so much better now with no more back pain from a saggy mattress. It’s well made and easy to set up!
