Supportive to the neck, not too high of a curve. Works best for back sleeping, as side sleeping the curve is not quite high enough for me. I overcame that by adding a thin pillow underneath for side sleeping. For reference I have a Petite build, I am 5’0 and 130lbs. It is a super squishy foam that did support the weight of my head, but may not work as well for a bigger built or heavier person. It did not have a bad smell like many foam products tend to have. I ordered this R-shaped Memory Foam Pillow in hopes that I could find comfortable sleep as a hot side sleeper. The memory foam core seems too soft for me to achieve the 15 degree Golden Sleep Angle, but I've since discovered that it's very useful for releasing my neck, shoulders, upper back and arms. In my second photo, you can see the wooden yardstick laying across the pillow. I lie with my shoulders across that part of the pillow, and place my arms straight out. My neck is across the top, and my head hangs down. I've found that this is wonderful for stretching the entire upper back and neck. It loosens the tightness and gives pain relief, especially from too much slouching over and screen time. Often I move my arms around while stretching. This feels really good. I also use this pillow with other neck pillows and stack them up until my head is cradled on a butterfly-shaped neck pillow. So, this pillow is highly functional in these stretches. It's a well-made pillow that has a removable soft cover with a zipper on the back in order to remove the cover. The cooling cover can be machine washed.
