I wear between a 28 and 32 inch waist over the years and I typically don't need to wear a belt because the pants don't sag below my hips even with the weight of whatever's in my pockets. So I was a tad surprised with this 30 inch waist pair of slacks that it sagged a bit lower than I was used to and I felt compelled to wear a belt. This is likely due to small elastic pieces around the belt line, which I consider to be a strong plus because (a) it feels a lot more comfortable; and (b) it future proofs if I bulk out a little more around the belly down the road. I wouldn't call these pants silky in their texture and feel, but it's definitely a lot less coarse than other dress slacks and definitely way less than jeans. So with that plus the stretchiness, even with the belt caveat (which is a minor thing for me and I expect most people to wear belts most of the time anyway), I would heartily recommend this with 5 stars. I usually buy my husband dress pants that are either cotton or a wool blend, so I didn't have very high expectations for pants made from a polyester blend. However, these feel and look much better than I expected. It's a thicker fabric that feels heavier and better quality than a lot of polyester pants. They do seem to pick up lint just as fast as black cotton material though. I ordered the waist size my husband usually wears, 30, and they fit fine. The waist band does have some room to grow due to expandable strips which can be lengthened by pulling, so they could potentially fit someone with a slightly larger waist, or expand a little if you gain weight. This is a more "classic" style, with a roomy, more regular fit through the legs, not slim fit or tight. While they don't have the look or feel of more expensive or name brand dress pants, they are pretty decent pants if you are looking for something functional and affordable that still look nice and are durable. They could be worn when you need something more dressy, but not exactly a full suit, or even with a blazer or jacket for a dressy casual look. Extra buttons are included. While I do personally prefer natural over synthetic fabric in clothes, these dress pants are as described, and look and feel much better quality than I anticipated so I feel that they justify 5 stars. I tried out three brands in the same size classic fit expandable waist. This was the odd one out. The legs taper more than they should so they don’t sit right on top of the shoe and the waist was bigger than the other two I tried and waaaay more loose on the stretch. The material was ok. The fit was also odd. They seem more like they should be high waist instead of at the hip. Maybe it’s because the sizing was strange. I would definitely size tight on the waist for these if you try them because otherwise you will absolutely need a belt to keep them on. Read more
