These are decent shoes for the price ($40, $30 with the current coupon). They're not my usual style and I'm still not completely sold on the "oxford-sneaker" combo but I can see myself wearing them in certain casual settings. However I suspect they may suffer a bit from being too "dressy" for casual settings and too casual for dressy settings. Concerns about the style aside, they seem well made and with the durability and build-quality being quite good considering the price. They are comfortable, with firm thick support if that is your thing. I wouldn't call them particularly lightweight shoes however. That perhaps was one of the things that surprised me about them; I was expecting "sneaker" level lightness but they are decently heavily built. I haven't bought fake-leather gear in a while; from far away it passes muster at least. I wear a 12.5 and have learned to order a 13 rather than a 12 when I cannot try on both, unfortunately in this case that means the shoes are a bit too big on me. Perhaps I should have gone with the 12 instead. So, the fit is off but I will chalk that up to half sizes not being offered. All in all - these are a good value for the money. I would stay away from them if you're not sold on the "sneaker-dress shoe" style. But if you have a clear use for them then I think they are a good deal. Read more

These casual Dress Men’s Oxford style shoes are a bit of a departure for me. “You selected those?” Said my partner. “I mean that’s just not like you…they’re nice!” I’m not a fashion maven, it’s true. But I like nice looking shoes as much as the next Joe. These do look pretty nice. They emulate the classic men’s Oxford shoes, a British style originally, in a variety of plastics instead of the leather of the originals. They have a pretty nice, everyday sort of finish, with a middle-brown body that appears to darken toward the sole. The soles are actually grey underneath (grippy TPM) and show a white stripe along the side. The mavens will not be wondering if they’re made from expensive Italian leather by a little, old shoemaker at Loakes in Brighton, but they’re not unattractive and they have the long lines of a true Oxford design. Fit is pretty good: my feet are not easy to fit. These tend toward the long and narrow where I usually go pretty wide instead looking for a better fit — yet here I found it in a different sort of shape. The long narrow design made me think of boots cut below the ankle, and it turns out that’s one leading theory about their origin, from students cutting off boots and wearing as shoes while at Oxford College (U?) the so called Oxoniana Oxfords, so the roots likely go back to boots. The ad calls out padding, which is fairly light, but they’re definitely not hard. These have a moderately focused look, if not purely formal. With the TPM they might work as deck shoes, but it’s grey not white, and they really are not optimal for boating. I’d say worth a shot. Read more

These are comfortable and soft, and the faux-leather finish looks good in person. For me, these work best as a more casual dress shoe for situations where Vans just will not work, or when you want to dress down a business look without going too formal. They have a nice appearance for the price and are easy to pair with a range of outfits. That said, I personally would still choose real leather shoes if I needed something to wear all day for work or for heavier long-term use. These feel more like a style-and-value purchase than a premium all-day work shoe. At the current price point of around $30, I think they are a solid buy. They look good, feel comfortable, and make sense if you want an affordable shoe for occasional wear, casual office outfits, dinners, or events where sneakers feel too casual. I got these in size 12, which usually fits for me. They fit my feet well, but a little snug. If these were real leather, I think they would stretch a bit and would have been a bit more comfortable. From a distance, they are pretty convincing. They look just like the pictures in the description. Because they are not real leather, I expect they will handle a little water better than actual leather, which is a plus. The sole is firm, and there is not much arch support. These are good shoes for someone on a tight budget, or with ethical concerns about wearing leather. Read more

I was looking for shoes that work both for business casual and everyday wear, and these fit the bill nicely.
