Lightweight Shoes, but Not Well Made

These shoes are just OK. They are very lightweight because the uppers are made of knit fabric. Despite being light, the uppers are made of a medium weight fabric so they hold their shape OK when they are being stored. The soles are made of a harder plastic; more like Tupperware container plastic than the type of grippy rubber you’d normally find on shoes. That makes the shoes slide on softer surfaces like carpet. They grip OK on rough surfaces like concrete. Similarly, the tongue and heel counter are not made of leather. They are made of a very plastic-feeling vinyl. The hard vinyl part of the shoe comes up high enough that it irritates the bones on the side of your ankles. The shoes run small. They are too short. You may want to order a ½ size larger than you normally wear. The inside of the shoes have little support built in. Your feet slide around inside as you walk. The overall fit is mushy and loose. The listing says these are walking shoes. They are not. Don’t go walking in them or you’ll wind up with blisters and sore feet. If you’re just sitting at work, at home or in a social situation they are light, cool and relatively comfortable. Frankly, for about 20 bucks more you can get brand name shoes like this that fit properly, have decent soles that don’t slide around on carpeted surfaces and have good internal support. In my opinion, these shoes really aren’t worth the money. Read more

Not-for-Sports Sneakers

I love that these shoes are marketed as "dress sneakers." They're sleek and--according to my husband--comfortable. He'll be wearing them to work, which is about as dressed up as he gets. Read more
