This hooded flannel jacket is super comfortable, warm, and stylish. The sizing chart is accurate: I currently wear XL & XXL shirts and this XL jacket fits well over a button-down. It zips up to about where the clavicle begins, not all the way up the neck, but the hood can be tightened up with a drawstring that can help close the gap a little bit if that’s important. While I still love the look and feel of this fleece-lined red/brown/grey/orange jacket and will be wearing it throughout the fall, there are a few quality misses: • There are a little thread pulls that you may or may not notice, which can either be annoying or offer a “worn in” look, however you wish to perceive it. • The hood is incredibly pointy on top and may not be the style you’re hoping for when you have it up — this certainly could have benefited from a double seam with a rounded cut, rather than a single straight seam. • The stitched on label (thankfully at the bottom) and the little stitched on bits trying and set of the orange hanging cord are all PU (polyurethane), not even the thinnest leather, and it’s obvious, as well as the bad stitching. At least the packaging crease in the label works out after washing, but I may be removing these on my own rather than waiting for them to deteriorate and fall off. On the plus side, the logo itself is decent and unobtrusive. • The zipper is plastic, not metal teeth, and is quite loud when zipping. • ATTENTION: The care label attached to the inside does not say so, but the degrees for washing and ironing are in Celsius, not Fahrenheit (just in case you were wondering how to wash it in water below 30 degrees). Since the label also states “hanging drying,” which I take to mean, “hang to dry” and do not put it in a dryer on low, you will need a good lint brush to get out the ridiculous amount of colored lint on the hood (I didn’t have one and spent a very long time getting it mostly cleared of the lint). Given the above, I certainly wouldn’t value this according to its listed price of $89.99, but I do think it’s a good/great value at the $44.99 coupon price. Read more
