I just finished wearing a pair of these for a 2.5 week sitting vacation in Japan and Taiwan. It was cool in Japan (40-60°F) and warm in Taiwan (60-85°F). I wore these about 75% of the time. The pants were just right for these weather conditions. I didn't get then that wet because I used an umbrella. The lower legs didn't seem to soak up the rain. I generally prefer pockets with more of a side opening and these are more upright. But that actually makes them better for pick pocket deterrence. The zippers on the cargo pockets worked well. It was easy keeping passport and wallet in those without any discomfort on your leg. The stretchy fabric is quite comfortable and the weight of the fabric is good. They seem to line dry fast enough. The waterproof cargo pants came ready to wear. The pants feel like swim trunk material so they are light weight, dry quickly, and durable. The pants fit perfectly so they are true to size. I love the amount of pockets these pants have and the versatility. You can wear them out hiking or walking during the day or at night going to dinner. The material is SPF UPF 50+ so these are great for avoiding a sunburn while being outside in the sunlight all day. I never cared about things like that when I was younger, but can appreciate the protection now that I am older. These pants feel comfortable after wearing them five or six hours doing yard work outside, sweating and walking, which is nice. These fit appropriately with a nice balance between being loose enough to not hinder your activities and being tight enough not to rub your legs too much while wearing them. The elastic waist will most likely require a belt but the pants can be worn without a belt and are still secure enough. I wouldn't run in them without a belt, but could definitely walk around without a belt easily. Overall these are great SPF UPF cargo pants. The price is right for what they are. The stitching is neat and secure. The material is comfortable and breathable. The zippers on the pockets function perfectly. There is plenty of space inside the pants so they don't feel restrictive while being active. Last but not least, these pants look good while wearing them which is also important in my opinion. First thing I noticed was how light they are. The 90% nylon and 10% spandex blend gives them this almost featherweight feel that you wouldn't expect from a cargo-style work pant. They don't feel like hiking pants in the utilitarian, clunky sense — they actually look sharp enough that I've worn them to casual Friday at the office without a second thought. The clean seams and tailored cut do a lot of work here. The waterproofing is legitimate. I got caught in a solid rainstorm on a trail last weekend and the water just beaded right off. No soaking through, no heavy wet fabric weighing me down. They also dried out fast once I was back under cover, which is exactly what you want when the weather can't make up its mind. The 3D articulated knee design is something I didn't know I needed until I had it. Climbing over rocks and scrambling up steep sections feels completely unrestricted — no pulling, no binding, nothing. My old hiking pants feel like wearing a potato sack now by comparison. Six pockets is the right number of pockets. The two zippered thigh pockets are deep and secure enough that I trusted them with my phone on rough terrain, the side pockets fit a lot more than you'd expect, and the Velcro back pockets are a nice touch for flat items like cards or a folded map.
