Great Gloves for Nicer Weather Motorcycle Riding
I wasn't quite sure with all the types of motorcycle gloves out there, if this brand would deliver in all the areas I wanted. I'm happy to say that these were exactly what I wanted. I ride a Kawasaki Z900RS. To start, the fit & finish are just right. I'm between Md & Lg size depending on the manufacturer. In this style, I guessed Md, which ended up being the right choice. I've had them out on one ride so far to test their performance & I can say they win there too. The extra padding in the palm is great. The extra grip strips in the palm & fingers held well in a loose grip. They also have some protective rubber padding on the backside of the fingers on the fist area. On the motorcycle ride, I did slow speeds & highway speeds (between 30 mph & 75 mph) for about an hr. The weather went from warm sunny to blasting raining within the same 20 mile area. I maintained speeds of 65 - 75 mph in the sun & blasting rain. I'll try to explain how the performed in the varying riding & weather conditions. At differing speeds, my hands were well protected from wind. They stayed cool & never got sweaty. Allowing enough breeze thru to stay cool. In the rain, they didn't keep out the water. Which I didn't expect that they would, but they still performed great in the rain. I was so glad that my hands never felt any pain of being hit by rain water. The coldness of the water combined with the 75 mph speed made for a chilly experience. I drove in rain for about 10 min till it cleared up. I got off at the nearest exit to dry myself off at a fuel station. I was soaked all over & decently cold throughout (not just my hands.) At the fuel station, I used their hand dryer to warm back up & dry out the gloves. I was able to avoid the storm for the rest of the ride. At about 9:30pm, I arrived home. The gloves performed well. They did so in the warm sun, in the blasting rain, at highway speeds & in the cool evening air. The protective rubber on the backside of these gloves is adequate for me. I'm happy with the placement kf their rubber protection. On the palm, the padding is what I'm happiest about. In the past, on longer rides, I'm used to my palms being vibrated numb even when I used gloves. These prevented that from happening. Part of that can be credited to the gloves. The other part is how I adapt my grip a little loose to keep my hands from going numb. I recommend these gloves for anyone on the fence about a pair for the summer / spring weather riding. I would not use these gloves for consistently cooler temps like the fall / winter. Read more
