He is between a large and X-Large but glad we went for XL because he will be comfortable and has enough room to move around in it without feeling constricted. It's cost effective and fits the bill. It's not renn faire quality, but I was able to run it through the wash a few times on the delicate setting (not recommended by the manufacturer, but I'm lazy). The eyelets weren't installed well so one of them is coming off. For what I paid that's understandable. Otherwise, the white shirt is really comfortable and everything else fit me fine. Read more

I want to start this review off by thanking Artemisia Designs for their customer service. I bought one size of this costume, it came parcel select and got to me within a week. I found that everything but the breeches fit me well, so I emailed them about it with about a week until I needed the costume to wear. They said they would send me another one in a size bigger (they couldn't break up the costume and only send breeches), as soon as I got them tracking info for the return. I sent it priority, sent them the tracking info, and the next day they had another costume in the mail, priority to me. I am so impressed by this company, Corey especially, that I have recommended them to others all over the place. To note, the doublet in this is dry clean only, but the breeches and shirt can be hand washed. I would suggest you hand wash them before wearing them, as you should all clothes you are going to wear. Also, check all the buttons and snaps (three buttons, one snap on the breeches) before wearing them. I found that I had to re-stitch the buttons as two fell off before I put them on, but that's not a big deal, it's a minor repair. I was complimented several times on the costume and found that, amongst every person at the ren fest, I did feel the most noble because not many people had on a proper doublet. Several people only had a poet shirt, or an knight's tabbard or similar. The costume fit very well and it looked as period accurate as you can get without making it yourself. Let me start by saying I miss read the size description when placing my order and the pants do not fit nor will the doublet lace up the front, but this costume still looks and feels amazing. I might not look like a poet in this but with the front worn open it looks very rogue-ish and it give me more incentive to lose weight so I do fit in all of the costume pieces. Read more

Just as the ad copy says, this is a costume. It's decently made of okayish fabric, but a hard-core Rennie would not call it *garb*. If I had time to sew my husband new faire garb, I would have done so rather than used this, but it's okay. Read more
