I bought this to make a screen door for my daughter’s “Addy Shack” = a small-ish children’s (permanent structure) play house. That we have now converted into a tween girls space away from everyone. She loves it! But wanted more of a breeze. I was unable to find a press in place screen door the size we needed (22-23” wide). So me being a DIY’er, decided to make one. This rod is perfect! VERY sturdy, light weight, and the end caps have a silicone pad to prevent slipping once pressed in place. The twist action to extend/ retract the bar feels smooth and does not glitch. Color is true (black in my case) and does not scratch easily. The rod was able to support the weight of the screen door I made + weights added to the bottom for stability. Whole weight is about 3 lbs- after adding magnets, cloth handle and weights at the bottom + rod. I made the screen door in like 3 days, real time (I had to do in between work and other things). But it came out great and was much less expensive than doing a special order for the weird size we needed. My daughter is thrilled that she can leave the door open, catch the breeze and not let flys and such in. I would recommend this product. Read more
These work well, as advertised. Easy to adjust and install. Took about 2 minutes to put the drapes on and install. Read more
So - I did not buy this for the typical reason they are normally used. My dog likes to look out the bow window. She was knocking plants over and really pissing me off. I was going to get some type of child gate there - but couldn't find anything that would work for that space. This rod was long enough - still sturdy being extended sooooo long, and I like that it has a thin padding at the end - hopefully wont rip the paint off the wall when I take it down. I'm hoping this wont have to be here forever. She is just a puppy right now. And this has worked. NOTHING has been knocked over since I put this up. She can still hop up and stare out the window. This will get repurposed after the puppy chills out a bit...or it will be there forever. Read more
Nice quality but would not work in my bronze brown metal trimmed sunroom windows. Also, the ends were white, which looked unsightly on a dark frame. I returned for a refund which I have already received. They did charge a return fee they deducted from my refund. Read more
These are PERFECT! I went through a lot of Frogs to find this Prince of a tension rod. Ok, a little pricier than I wanted to go, but I went there. 1. They look great. 2. They are beyond easy to install. 3. They are sturdy. I can open and close my curtains all day long without the rod moving or coming down. These rods look amazing. They are so easy to install. Other than twist them to fit in my window, I did have to remove the end cap to fit the rod into the grommets of my curtains. An easy task to accomplish by using the included allen wrench. Just a few turns to remove the end cap, put the rod in the curtains, put the end cap back on, shove that rod in the window and BAM... window treatments done! Read more
Finally received the curtain rod, easy to install and good quality and very strong. I would highly recommend this item. Read more
First the good things: This rod is beautiful and very high quality. I needed a quality rod that could accommodate a width of only 18 3/4 inches and also be easily removable. That's not an easy thing to find. The rod fit wonderfully and couldn't have looked or functioned better. Yet (the bad part), I have to return it because installing and removing it leaves thick black streaks on the wall / cabinet surfaces. The streaks come from the black end cushions. With a good detergent and some elbow grease I was able to remove the collection of streaks from my painted cabinet. But, I was unable to get rid of the streaks on the wall. The wall is painted a light color with eggshell finish. I have seen numerous rods having well adhering ends that do not leave a part of themselves behind on a wall surface. If these rods were updated to such non-marring end cushions, I buy this item again in a heart beat. Read more
Using this rod as part of a makeshift temporary closet solution in a window eve until i can figure out something else. Without support, I got about 10 to 15 items on it before the rod slipped. But with support, I have about 40 knee length cotton summer dresses (sleeveless and short sleeve), 10 or so shrugs and maybe another 10 empty thin velvet hangers. Which is quite a bit. And while I could fit more, I dont want to stress the rod, as I am probably over the 20 lb max now. I used a couple of 1 1/2" round socket rod brackets to support it, as I could not find the 2" rod sockets it required for the rod to sit in the socket. The rod ends are just above the socket, but using the heavy duty solid chrome sockets set into a stud, so far, so good. New closet for under 30 bucks. Read more
