I got these tongs to use with lump charcoal when grilling. I use lighter cubes to light the charcoal, and sometimes smaller pieces of charcoal will drop down on top of a lighter cube and put it out. These are very handy for grabbing those little pieces that fall down, and positioning them better. They work very well for this, and I wish I had them a long time ago. The main issue I have with them, however, is that they are definitely not aluminum as advertised. I noticed right away that they felt too heavy for aluminum, so I grabbed a magnet, and sure enough, it stuck right to them. I planned to keep them outside with the grill, but instead I'm keeping them in the garage, so it really shouldn't be too much of an issue for me. The other issue is that the tips are not aligned and even... one sticks out further than the other. It's hard to complain too much, though, when considering the $5.99 price tag. I have removed two stars for the false claim that they are aluminum. **UPDATE: Since leaving my review, the title of the product listing has been corrected to say steel instead of aluminum. However, there are still at least two areas on the product page that still say that these tongs are "anodized aluminum". **UPDATE #2: Since adding my first update, the areas of text on the product page that had said "anodized aluminum", now say "anodized steel". However, there really is no such thing as anodized steel, because anodizing steel creates rust. So the description is getting closer to being correct, but simply swapping in "steel" in place of "aluminum" is still ultimately incorrect in this context. Read more
