The size chart on this product page is actually bonkers. Nobody has a 17 inch difference between the waist and hips. For a small that supposedly can accommodate a 40 inch hip, I struggled to get them on my 36 inch hips. Needless to say, this skirt runs small compared to the absurd size chart. However, it seems to be sized normally compared to regular clothes. For bottoms, I wear a medium typically, and I bet a medium would fit comfortably. The stretchiness of the waist did allow me to squeeze in and it actually does not pucker out at the waist like most clothes do when you have a 10 inch waist hip difference. But because the size chart mislead me into getting a smaller size, this doesn't fit as it is supposed to. This skirt is supposed to fit at the hips, not at the waist, so an accurate size chart is important. If the Medium really had an extra 3in at the hem, I think this would have been a good skirt. As it stands, my butt turned this from a mini to a micro skirt and I can't move without the lining showing out the bottom, or worse. But that is just a me problem. Like with most clothes, the skinnier you are the better this will look. I got the brown, so I couldn't say whether lighter colors would be see through, but the linen cotton outside isn't the thickest so I would be a bit concerned even with the extra stretchy stuff on the inside for extra coverage. I actually wish it didn't have the lining because it bunches up on me and serves little purpose: it's a miniskirt, you aren't getting that much coverage and no lining is going to help that. Now it looks like my underwear is sticking out the bottom when it's just the lining. But at the end of the day, it is hard to find anything cotton and linen for $17 even if it's only half a proper garment worth of fabric. And it did not shrink in the wash. This is a really cute skirt! The length is great on me (I’m 5’6”) and fit is true to size. I really like that it comes with the shorts liner which makes me feel more comfortable with wearing this out and about. This skirt is well made, all seams are holding up well and not coming loose. I wore this in a size Extra Large (brown plaid) to a rave last weekend, and it survived 4 hours of extreme dance! If you’re looking for the complete blend of Y2K aesthetic and "I don't have to worry about a wardrobe malfunction," this is it. The built-in shorts were the MVP. Between dancing, sitting on the ground and navigating massive crowds, I could move with 100% confidence. The shorts are cut shorter than the skirt, so they stayed completely hidden while providing a smooth fit that prevented any "chafing" or accidental exposure. Even in a packed, sweaty venue, I didn't feel weighed down. Plus, despite being lightweight, the fabric was completely opaque, no "see-through" surprises under the lights. About me: 5'6", 192#, usually a 10/12 in pants I ordered a L in this skirt and feel that it is the correct size. This skirt is so cute! I love the gingham pattern and how many things I can wear with it. The fabric is great. The inside shorts are a thinner, stretchier fabric. And the skirt has almost a thicker feel like a thick cotton or thinner canvas. As a curvier person, I'm always concerned that a micro skirt won't cover the goods. I was pleasantly surprised that I am covered! I can't bend over... Lol but at least if I'm standing or walking the skirt covers....just barely. 😅 Read more
