Best nutritional yeast I've had. I have tried multiple brands from my local stores but wanted to buy a larger bag. I was nervous to spend $30 on a bag of nooch but just tried it and oh my goodness. We had never tried this brand. We were a little weary because it is sold in a bag instead of a solid container. The contents of the bag have a bright yellow color, which they say comes from the fortified vitamins. The added nutrition from the fortified vitamins is helpful for those on a plant-based diet. It is a mix, with half of it being nice flakes, and the rest being powder. It must be harder to maintain the flake texture in a soft bag. Previously we bought Nutritional Yeast in a hard container that protected the texture. A flaky texture makes it easier to combine with prepared foods. Whereas the powder form may be easier for recipes. This product definitely has a very nice cheesy flavor to it. It goes well with many foods. It is a good product. We give it 4 stars only because we were looking for a more consistently flaky product. Read more
I'm on a medically supervised diet and I'm not able to use cheese for things. I'm able to use cottage cheese only but I can't mix it with any other proteins. I've lost salt and sugar out of my diet as well and despite all my best efforts using a variety of other spices, it really kills variety and there are still many things that wind up tasting a bit bland. So I'm always on the hunt for things to add depth of flavor that I can have. I was really excited to mix this with cottage cheese to see if I could blend a cheese sauce for some veggies and starches.
