Very basic for a premium price.
I am honestly shocked at how expensive this no-name derma pen is for how basic it is. My sister came over to help me use it for the first time, and the no-name pen she owns was about $30 less but had better features, came in a nicer case, and offered more options geared toward skincare. Because of that, I was pretty disappointed in the value of this one. The pen itself is very simple. It has one button that cycles through five speed levels, and that’s it. It does work, and it performs the basic function of micro-needling, but it doesn’t feel advanced or premium in any way. If you’re experienced, the simplicity might be fine, but for the price, I expected more. The case is also pretty basic plastic, and one thing that really bothered me is that it won’t close at all if you store the needle cartridges inside with it. They all fit inside upon arrival but once you open it, they wont fit back inside. That makes storage less convenient and doesn’t feel very well thought out. The plastic case is useless and I'll have to find better storage. In terms of skincare results, it does work as expected. My skin looked the same as my sisters afterward, so they both gave about the same results. It will help skincare products absorb better so I'm happy about that. Of course, results depend on consistency and proper technique. Ease of use is decent. The single-button control is straightforward, and it’s not complicated to operate. Cleaning is also fairly easy as long as you’re following proper sanitation and disposing the needle cartridges as recommended. Pain level was actually not bad at all, but that’s because my sister guided me on what numbing cream to use beforehand. With the numbing cream, I didn’t feel pain, just some light pressure and vibration. Without numbing cream, I do think it would be much more uncomfortable. The build quality is okay, but it doesn’t feel especially high-end. It was the same weight as my sister's pen and I'm disappointed that there are better options out there for less. It works fine and does what it’s supposed to do, but for the price, It shouldn't be so basic, it should have better packaging, and a more premium feel. After comparing it to my sister’s less expensive pen, I honestly wish I had something like hers instead. Read more
