There has to be a reason that America's Test Kitchen called this their number one choice. It really does grate things quickly and easily. After spending almost 15 minutes trying to grate enough ginger for a teaspoon and a half with my old grater, I checked around online, found the ATK video and ordered one. I grated some of the same ginger root, making 2 teaspoons, in about a minute and a half. This thing is sharp and gets the job done. Well worth the $19.
