So if your like me and love fpv but are on a tight budget and wanna show off you skills or share the experience with other people but can't afford a gopro this is for you I promise! I review lots of products and put the reviews on Facebook and YouTube. I do it because if you don't have lots of money you can't chance losing it on a peice of crap and you also don't want somthing that your needing to buy over and over because it's cheap so I do it for you and let you know. So here it is. I love this thing and this vender is great too! I bought a second one because I took the other apart after a crash so I could maybe hack it or somthing for another video wich I can! But the video quality is great! 1080p or 720p. The Ir works really well! It takes pictures but it's a pain so don't bother. Your not using it for that anyways but the option is there and they look good too! Remembering the button combinations at first to operate it is lill confusing but once you know what you want to do with it you remember that combo and your fine. It comes with a little booklet wich helps. You can hack the cable to go to your vtx and also as is you can use it as a web cam and card reader but the video out can be modded to go to another vtx or your vtx. There is holders out there and mounts on Amazon. Stay away from the 3d printed ones they will eventually break the buttons off taking it out. There one from crazy pony and another vender I bought from and they are latex or rubber or somthing and are awsome for $10 you get 2 a red and black or blue. So scoop one up or YouTube sq11 and see for yourself. This vender also will help you promptly if you have an issue. Well worth the short cash here! Read more
I haven't had time to set the camera up until now and the English instructions are too hard to understand so I had to find a how to video on YouTube. But my real problem with the camera is that it won't record video??? I can get sound just fine but the infrared lights won't turn on and on my sd card I'll hear the background of the "video" but there will be no picture. It's way past the date that I can return it on but I've seen plenty of good reviews online so I'm kind of upset that my camera doesn't work Read more
I am a professional videographer with 15 years of experience, and I am very picky about what I use. Now, I am not going to use SQ-11 at work, it doesn't put out the broadcast standards that I need. I am using this at home and am impressed with what I am able to do with this tiny guy! The SQ-11 is a great little spy camera! the size only 0.8in cube with 2 buttons on top. To say that this camera is little would be an understatement, because the thing is tiny, like it can get lost in your pocket small. It came in just two days and arrived in excellent condition, very nice because I have received packages that were not packed well and the items were damaged. Not with this seller, just great! I opened the SQ-11 camera and was surprised by just how small it was. I was happy to see that it came with a versatile charger / playback / connector cable all in one. Nifty! I charged it for the appropriate time and was pleasantly surprised to see how long the charge lasted. The only thing I felt was wrong was that it can only hold a 32 gigabyte SD card. I thought that would be too small, but it turns out that the 32 gigabyte card is able to easily store a day or two of video, depending on settings. So, I don't need to use any of my very expensive SD cards, I easily got away with an older card that I had around. As I work with cameras every day, I assure you that I have plenty of the smaller SD cards! I feel that, for the price, heck, even if it were $100, this camera held it own. I did a quick video with this camera, I mounted it on the roof of my car, and drove my route to work. I showed the footage to a few colleagues and didn't tell them until after that I used the SQ-11. PROS: 1. It's a great camera if you want to use it interactively for a relatively short time. 2. It's tiny size and low price are unbeatable. 3. Night vision (really, sensitivity to IR light, but only when its IR LEDs are turned on manually). 4. Connects to a computer through USB as removable drive. 5. Motion detection (does not seem to work, but I haven't tested it extensively, yet). CONS: 1. Its tiny battery lasts only 100 minutes. 2. Even the relatively large 32 GB SD card can hold only ~3 hours of video at lowest resolution. 3. _Only_ manual controls via two small buttons. 4. Buttons DO NOT (!) operate when the camera is plugged into a USB port!! 5. Poorly written manual. As I wrote, interactive and/or short term use only. If you want to employ it as a security cam (preferably with night vision and motion detection), then forget it. On one hand, battery life is too short, on the other hand its buttons DON'T WORK when connected to a USB! In particular, when plugged in you will not be able to turn either night vision or motion detection on. :( How stupid is that?! Having it operate while plugged in would solve many problems. Or, perhaps, store desired settings in a file on the SD card, so that the camera can do what you want while plugged in. Cainda: good start, but still not enough; please allow operation when connected to USB. Added on 05/31/2018; Last night I did preliminary tests of motion detection function with night vision turned on. It worked fine recording 1-minute videos around motion events. However, after just 30 minutes of this successful run the camera turned itself off entirely. Disappointing. Apparently, the extra burden of supplying current to IR LEDs significantly shortens battery life. Besides, the effective range of IR light is a relatively short ~12 feet. Read more
