Mini WiFi Wireless Camera 2K Indoor Hidden Camera for Home Security Portable Battery Operated Small Camera Auto Night

This is a very nice portable camera for use as a pet cam, nanny cam, or security cam. It arrives in an unlabeled black box and inside the camera is cradled in a foam insert keeping it securely cushioned. Also inside is an accessory box that includes a USB A to C cable, a clip-on mounting bracket, and a couple anchor screws for attaching the mounting bracket to a surface. There is no charger included, but realistically you likely already have a good charger and don't need another to toss in your electronics pile. The camera is all black with some subtle vent holes for cooling. The front has a camera lens, an IR light, and a motion sensor. The whole front is black so this blends in pretty well to most environments. The included instruction booklet explains exactly how to set up the accompanying phone application so that you can get started. The camera can work without using the app just by installing an SD card on its own, but you will miss out on a lot of functionality if you don't use the app. You do have to make an account for it, but you are not required to use any cloud functions if you do not want to. You will need to supply your own SD card, but you don't need a huge one; pictures and video on this don't take up very much storage space. With the maximum supported 128GB card, the video bitrate will allow over 100 hours of recording without running out of space. The videos record at 16 frames per second and roughly 160KB per second of recording. The app is relatively simple to navigate and lets you view the live video feed. It's not perfect or the most intuitive initially, however after a little tinkering with it you will get the hang of things pretty quickly. I kept pulling out and checking the SD card for the pictures and videos that I told the app to record, but the only thing on the SD card was the automatic motion detection recording. It was just user error though and the recordings were saved directly to my phone! The app also allows you to set motion detection sensitivity, recording lengths, save locations, night vision or day vision modes, and a few other helpful options like turning off the power-on LED or switching between SD and HD mode. SD mode is only 640x360 resolution, so I would recommend HD which is 2304x1296 resolution. One SD photo takes a little less than 140KB and an HD one takes slightly less than 1000KB (1MB). The image quality is very good in bright light, dim light, and even dark rooms with night vision on. With night vision active, the camera will automatically detect the darkness and switch its IR light on to give a clear black-and-white image without shining visible light and blinding whoever is in its path. The camera has a built-in microphone that allows you to clearly hear what is going on in the area, but there is no speaker so you can not talk through it. The battery makes it convenient to place this wherever you need without any cords getting in the way and you have a few settings to prioritize better battery life in exchange for lower sensitivity or vice versa. In my use case, I have an outlet nearby to keep it plugged in, so I haven't tested the maximum battery time, but it has plenty of battery life that it didn't die even after a few hours of wireless use for testing. Brilliant little 2K camera with app! Its a big bang for your buck that fits in your hand! I got this camera to watch/check on our dog in a crate while I ran errands because she had been spayed. It was a fantastic wide view of not only our dog healing, but also what the other two dogs were doing as well. I was super happy with the quality of the camera view. It is very small, but mighty! I did charge up the battery to use rather than using it plugged in and then placed it on its little tripod that can be stuck down permanently if you wanted, screwed in, or just rested in position while using. I opened my app to make sure I had everything set. App was easy to download, signup for free too! The camera comes with a very clear small instruction booklet that explains set up and the camera details. It does use the 2.4hz wifi which is readily available almost anywhere you would travel. I linked it to our 2.4wifi and I was so pleasantly surprised not only with the clarity of the lens but that the IR camera kicks in efficiently for viewing in darkness too! I really like that it is motion activated for recording. I believe this helped the battery to continually last. I haven’t had to change the batteries yet. I would say cumulative hours are at about 16 and its still going strong. Its super simple to operate too! Point and watch basically. The app also has a cloud option for saving recordings to- I think its a great option or an SD card (not included)! You can sign up yearly or just for a moment in time for a small fee with a few payment options, its not mandatory though. I can appreciate those options as this little device will now be traveling with us on vacations. Also, I had no issues with checking the camera in the grocery store or anywhere else - the app works that well. Again, what was so surprising is how much viewing it gives you, 110degrees on HDmode 2300x1296 resolution, basically it was most of the area the dogs run in about 900sqft and the clarity was up to 15feet detailed. This mini camera is surprisingly powerful for it's size. The 2k resolution gives a clear and sharp view live through the app. Setup was straightforward as long as you're on a 2.4Hz network. Motion detection works well, and I like that you can adjust the sensitivity. The battery life is a huge plus for me. The built in rechargeable battery allows for flexible placement without dealing with cords so it's easy to use in different rooms as needed. The only thing I didn't' love was the one-way audio. The battery-powered design makes it super flexible since you’re not tied to an outlet. The 2K video quality is sharp & clear, even in low light thanks to the automatic night vision. Setup through the app is straightforward, & remote viewing plus real-time alerts work exactly as they should.
