TRULY THE BEST EVER

I have wanted a pair of moccasins since I was a young girl in the late sixties and early seventies. At long last I finally have a pair and I absolutely love them! I could have gotten them cheaper from another company but I am a firm believer in the Minnetonka brand and I wouldn't have anything else. Check their website for instructions on how to 'set' your shoes before you start wearing them. Unfortunately, you can't just take them out of the box and start wearing them or you will ruin them quickly. You will need to wear them around the yard first for a few weeks, in dry grass before you start walking on concrete or gravel. There's a little more to the preparation process than that, but please, do yourself a favor. If you're going to purchase the good stuff, which in my opinion is Minnetonka, then take the time to go to their website and print out the instructions for how to "break in" your moccasins before you start wearing them out in public. Be sure to read about getting them wet, which is not a good thing. They also have an excellent tip on how to keep the shoe strings tied permanently so that you don't have to keep tying them over and over. So if you want the true moccasin experience, buy Minnetonka brand and follow the instructions on their website to a "T" and you will get years and years of enjoyment and wear from that single pair of moccasins. Oh...and buy them a half size smaller than your 'normal' size. They will stretch quickly enough & before you know it, you'll be walking around in floppy, poorly fitting moc's if you buy your regular size. I wear gel inserts in mine due to knee and back problems. But if I'm just going to be walking for a short period of time, I skip the inserts & go for the pure 'barefoot feeling' of a great pair of mocassins. 😀 Read more

Classic fringe

I like love these. Same quality after 50 years. You have to wear them in for a few hours a day. Especially if you have a wide foot like mine. These are a good value. I love them. Read more

Love them, almost as good as barefoot

These are moccasins, of course they don't have arch support! I love them. Having an insole is very different from what I'm used to, but I'm leaving it in for now. This means it's not quite as good as being barefoot, but they're very comfy. The laces are too thick to tie well, but I'm replacing them with a faux leather bow attached to elastic hidden in the lacing tube. I hesitated to order these because of the price, but they turn out to be worth it. They're very well made, sturdy, and I expect them to hold up for several years. Read more

Comfortable but!

A little too narrow in the toes. So too tight in toes! For this reason can’t buy again. If you like this type of shoe and they are too narrow for you in women’s. Buy men’s. Read more

MAKE SURE TO SIZE DOWN!!

These mocs are absolutely fabulous!! However, you must size down almost a size and a half. I read other reviewers suggesting that and I'm normally an 8.5 - 9 (both feet are different) and I ordered an 8 and they were about an inch too big in the toe. So I returned and ordered a 7.5. Seriously though, the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Leather stretches so make sure to order down so they fit nice and snug at first. Read more

Incredibly narrow

I wear a size 8-1/2 shoe. Knowing they would stretch a bit I ordered an 8. They are plenty long. However they are so narrow it was actually painful across the ball of my foot. The stitching was digging into my little toe. I can't imagine they would ever stretch enough to be comfortable. The narrowness may be causing the toe appear pointed as mentioned in other reviews. The color was not as dark as I was expecting from the photos. The brown looks more like the tan shoes in the photo. My previous pair of these shoes was wonderful! They had a nice rounded toe box and the width was perfect. Plenty of room, but not floppy. I liked the padded insole. Read more
