So I bought a mission belt and it lasted for a good while. Due to the price when it wore out I bought a generic one, it only lasted three months. So I went back to mission belts. Well worth the extra cost, they last longer better quality ect. I've had a few now and the last one I bought had some threads coming out. I sent an email and got a prompt reply and a new belt sent out the next day. I honestly thought the belt was newer than it was. I had it about 11 months. Still under warranty so that was cool. Even at 11 months that's way longer than the generic one. Once you try a ratchet belt you'll never go back. I'll keep buying mission belts. They stand by their product and have good quality. The media could not be loaded. I wear a holstered gun on this belt daily and I can barely see an indent from the holster clip. The ratcheting feature still works perfectly well. The belt has continued to uphold its look and shape. It is stiff, adjustable, and looks great. I originally ordered a size too small and was able to get it swapped out without any issue. Only had a few days with this belt but so far I'm loving it! I'm a US size 32 so I bought the 33-35 size because I sometimes wear an inside the waistband pistol holster. It does run a little long but I plan on cutting it down by a few inches for purely cosmetic reasons. Functionality, even when it runs long, there's plenty of the ratchet strip for a good fit. Leather quality seems very good. It's thick and sturdy but still flexible enough. I bought a mahogany belt and a black belt and both seem to be of high quality construction. The belt buckle is very sturdy as well. Lastly, a little pro-tip for those getting this belt for the first time, so you don't freak out like I did. If you are trying to take the belt off via the release lever, and it's not budging, do not panic. Just suck in your tummy a bit, tighten your belt a few ratchets, and while you're still holding the belt in that position, flick the lever up. Definitely the best belt I have owned, but it is also the most I've spent on a belt. This is my first ratchet belt and I wanted to try it because my traditional belts tend to wear out on the hole that I always use. The ratchet belt seems like it would be more durable, but I am writing this after just a few days use so I can't comment on this yet. I can say that the finer grain adjustment of the belt does make it more comfortable to wear. I didn't really expect that, but it just fits better and if you are the type to frequently adjust your belt then ratcheting is the way to go. There are a lot of ratchet belt options on Amazon, but I went with Mission because of their nice clean look, many color options, good brand name, and excellent reviews. The buckle works great and appears to be quite solid with a good durable finish. The ratcheting mechanism uses a magnet rather than a spring so I think this will add to it's longevity. Some of the reviews have said that the belt can wear out, however it appears to be good quality and I am more than willing to give it a chance over traditional belts. The teeth strip on the back side of the belt appear to be of good quality and does not inhibit the flexibility of the belt at all. From the front side of the belt you can see a slight bump outline where the teeth strip is, but I'd be very surprised if anyone other than myself noticed it. The resizability of the overall length of the leather belt is great. I have not adjusted it yet but I may do so soon because I purposely bought mine long. I am about a 38 waist and purchased the XL because I'd rather have a too long belt and cut it than have a belt that barely fits. The XL still fits without any cutting and I could probably go about 6 teeth tighter before running out. Really my only complaint is that I feel the belt could have been a little cheaper. I have always had a problem finding the right belt for me. I have a fairly small waist and it is difficult to find a belt between 28-32 that fits correctly, looks good and does not have a lot of extra material. The ratcheting style of the belt allows me to adjust as needed without having to worry about finding a hole on the buckle with could be too tight or too loose. Also, being able to customize the length of the belt is a good feature. All you have to do is cut off any excess, making sure you don't cut off too much, then put it back together. Cutting the material just requires a pair of good shears and the cut end is hidden well within the belt buckle. The leather is not too rigid so when you roll it, it stays rolled. I have been using this belt for about 2 months now and plan on replacing my entire belt collection with Misson's other buckles and belts. Cons: Belt buckle scratches easily, when I recieved the belt, the scratches were already present. Unlocking the belt to take it off/loosen it sometimes takes a couple tries.
