We recently got this Mixpresso stovetop espresso pot, and it has quickly become one of our favorite ways to brew coffee. Below is a breakdown of how it performs in real life. Pros & What We Love Stainless Steel & Induction Compatibility One of the deciding factors for us was that it works flawlessly on our induction cooktop. Many moka pots are aluminum and won’t, but this model handled it without issue. Good Value for the Price: You get a 12-cup capacity, durable materials, and a decent build quality — for a price that doesn’t break the bank. Convenient Features: There’s a fill line inside the water chamber, making it easy not to overfill or underfill. The Ergonomic handle is easy to grip and carry even when hot. Setup is intuitive — three parts (water chamber, coffee basket, top) — and cleaning is quick (the parts separate cleanly). The design includes a permanent filter, so you don’t need paper filters. mixpresso.com Strong Brewing Behavior: We use a Santo Domingo roast, generally about 3 tablespoons for the two of us. The brewing starts with a bubbling action and then quietly finishes once the pot is ready. The coffee flavor is rich, full-bodied, and consistent. Cons & Things to Note / Word of Caution Hot Flip-Up Lid / Steam Risk The flip-up lid (including where the thumb grip is) can get dangerously hot from steam and heat. I often use a towel or wait for the steam to vent before lifting. That’s a mild inconvenience, but worth noting. Durability / Long-Term Issues Some reviewers have reported occasional durability issues over time — things like rust. With proper care I think that can be avoided by not leaving the burner on long past the point it stops brewing and by properly drying it. Either way its something I’ll keep an eye on as we use it longer. Learning Curve on Heat / Sputtering With larger moka pots, maintaining the right heat is important to avoid sputtering or uneven flow. I’ve watched videos and read guides to get the “sweet spot” down. Size / Bulk As a 12-cup maker, it’s a bit larger than smaller moka pots, so it takes up more space in storage or when used. Recommendations & Tips for Best Use Use medium-fine grind (not too fine) so the pressure can push water through without clogging or sputtering. Start with low to medium heat and let it brew slowly — don’t force high heat. Use the safety valve as recommended; never block or tamper with it. Clean thoroughly and regularly; check gasket, filter, and valve. (Like all espresso pots, periodic maintenance matters.) Be extra cautious with the lid when it’s hot - use a towel or wat a moment after brewing before lifting. Bottom Line This Mixpresso 12-Cup Greca stovetop espresso pot has become one of our favorite coffee tools. It balances performance, durability, and practicality—especially for those using induction cooktops. The flip-up lid’s heat is a minor drawback, and longevity is something I’ll continue to monitor, but so far it’s exceeded expectations. Highly recommended if you want a moka pot that works well, looks good, and delivers strong coffee without fuss. Read more

Pretty disappointed with this stovetop coffee maker. It would never empty the bottom chamber fully. There was always a substantial portion of water left below which was frustrating. Give me my coffee! Looks cute but that's about all it had going for it. Read more

It works really well but it is super tiny. When it said it made 6 cups I was expecting it to make 6 cups. It makes 1 1/2 if you are lucky. It does a great job of brewing and the coffee is amazing and it does not take very long to make a cup of coffee but when I have to go back and constantly be brewing, another pot, another pot or I should say cup it’s a little bit irritating. And it does not keep the coffee hot after it is done cooking but I guess it’s good. It only makes one and a half cups at a time . Read more

Read more
