It feels heavy in the sense that the metal is strong (and it’s metal, not plastic) but not so heavy that it’s impossible to work with. It’s well made, everything works. The finish on the branches and frame a nice glossy gold. We put ours on a dimmer, no issues. I’d have a professional install it, it’s hard to get it straight if you haven’t done stuff like this before. I watched 2 electricians put it up, it looked quite challenging. Looks great now that it’s up! I don’t like spending a lot of money on light fixtures, but this is very functional, gives off a lot of light, you can even adjust the light branch arms.
