Great for everyday hand washing, kills germs for 24 hours, has no odor, is economical
I absolutely love this! Not only is this antimicrobial, after using it, and rinsing, your hands remain free of most pathogens for 24 hours, unless, of course, you destroy the antimicrobial layer by applying alcohol, hand lotion, a different soap, etc. However, even if you've been washing your hands with Hibiclens, there may be times when you want to use alcohol as well, for example, after being in a doctor's waiting room or a hospital setting. A lot of people I know want to use an alcohol hand sanitizer upon leaving a doctor or hospital setting. That's fine. Just start using the Hibiclens once you get back home, and your antimicrobial protection will be returned. This cleanser is super light and foamy, and very easy to use, however, it's not recommended for use in the intimate area, and you need to take care not to get it in your eyes, nose, or mouth. However, it will help to clear acne as long as you're careful with it. Since it was developed for hospital use, you might think it has a medicinal smell. Not true. When I first put it on my hands, I noticed a very light floral scent, but that dissipates before I even finish washing, leaving no scent at all. I find it gentle and not at all irritating. If you do find it irritating, just discontinue use. Some people don't think this is a very economical hand soap. Yes, it does cost more than most name brand soaps, either liquid or bar, but you use so much less of Hibiclens, so it ends up being one of the most economical. My children love washing their hands with this pretty pink foamy cleanser, but I do have to teach them not to use too much. I do use a different soap for showers and baths, however, though I know people who use this in the shower. I stick to soaps made for showering. It's just easier. I have replaced all the hand soaps in my bathrooms with Hibiclens. I just love it. I'd give it ten stars if I could. If it's clean, germ-free hands you're looking for, you can't go wrong with Hibiclens. Read more
