I'm a firearms instructor and it's common in our industry to use this type of tape on our guns for various things but primarily to aid with positive grip in wet environmens. I've used all kinds of hockey tape and regularly use Goon Tape but this is by far the best tape I've used. The adhesive doesn't bleed through and make it sticky and the tape itself has the best texture that I've seen on something like this. It's my new go-to. Read more

Well, this is the best tape i ever used. Better than hampton and other brands. Read more
Tape is strong and does the job well. I prefer a thicker tape, and I found that this one is difficult to tear with short nails I keep for grappling, and it is not gentle on the skin/hair when removing. It also leaves glue and some strings of tape on the skin. Read more

I really, really tried find another cheaper tape that could match Monkey Tape, but, much to my dismay, it truly holds the crown as the best tape for grappling. - Some of the other tapes would loosen over the course of 3 hours of classes and rolling; Monkey Tape doesn't. - If other tapes didn't loosen, it was because they had no stretch and wouldn't allow enough give for movement, or would tear as my fingers flexed; Monkey Tape has neither problem. - Some tapes would just lose adhesion as I got sweaty; not Monkey Tape. - If other tapes didn't lose adhesion it's because the adhesive was so strong that when I took the tape off it was gonna take some finger hair with it; Monkey Tape comes off clean. - Some other tapes would be hard to tear cleanly; Monkey Tape tears like a dream. I'm gonna keep trying to find a cheap underdog tape that beats Monkey Tape, but if I haven't come back and updated this review to say I've found it, it's safe to say that Monkey Tape is still what's kicking around in my gym bag. Just make sure you buy the biggest roll of Monkey Tape and learn to tear strips yourself; just because it's worth the price doesn't mean you shouldn't get as much as you can for your money. Read more
After using several times, the tape will last about a week before having to replace it. Bad buy. Read more
I’ve tried so many brands of tape for jiu jitsu training. This one is by far the strongest, most durable tape I’ve ever seen and stays on no matter how much you sweat. I would not be able to train without it! Read more
