Why did you pick this product vs others?: I recently picked up a new M4 Mac Mini and wanted to mount it underneath by desk. This mount design is made of thick powder-coated metal, that doesn't flex or move around at all. The inside of the mount is lined with padding, so you don't need to worry about scratching your Mac Mini when you slide it into position. The mount can be attached underneath a desk with included wood screws, as well as the back of a monitor with a matching VESA pattern. The mount is pretty simple in design, although it also covers the basics like allowing you to still connect to all your ports. It also leaves the power button open so you can easily turn it on after mounted. Overall this mount fits the bill to get your Mac Mini hidden from the top of your desk, without limiting what you are still able to connect to it. This is a well made under desk mount. It's well thought out. - It's fairly priced. - The instructions are clear and easy to follow. - Nice mounting screws are included for both Versa mounting and under desk mounting. - There are 2 sets of 4 holes for the screws. - The mount itself is stout and powder coated black. It has padding so you don't scratch your Mini when sliding it in and out. - You can remove the Mac Mini from the mount with all your cables still attached in the event you need to do that. Installation: The included screws are not the cheap screws that are typically included. These are coated black wood screws that won't strip as long as you use the proper sized Phillips head screw driver. They won't break driving them into solid wood either. Also included are Versa mount screws in case you want to mount this behind your monitor. Please note that you can't have a monitor arm and mount this to the back of your monitor. It's either one or the other. You'll be okay if you use a monitor stand. Note that I did not try and mount this on the back of my monitor because my monitor is attached to an arm, not a stand. Likes: I liked that there is ample space around the mount/Mac Mini so air is free to move around the mount. I also liked the instructions and mounting screws which are better than most products that include these items. This is a sturdy cage that holds your Mac Mini securely. I was able to easily mount it under a particle board desk, and it is rock solid, with good quality hardware included. My monitor is on an arm, so I couldn't use the VESA mount, but there are brackets that extend the mount to one side, so that it could be used with an arm as well, and it includes good quality machine screws if you go that route. I've never taxed my Mini enough to feel any heat from it, and it seems to be running just as cool under the desk. Read more
