Customers find the studwelder kit works well, with one noting it performs like a high-dollar stud gun, and they consider it a professional-grade tool that holds up great.
When it arrived and I opened the case, many of the draw pins were loose inside due to rough handling. To ensure nothing was wrong with the stud gun, I welded a few pins to an exhaust pipe, and it worked great. I will update this review once I get a chance to do some bodywork, but for now, I am very well pleased. Read more
Overall, a great product. The studs hold well. What I've found, on our Jetta, is only weld it for a split second. The instructions recommend 1/2 a second to a second, but that seems to be too much for thin metal. Not too happy with the Magna-Wire. The 16 gauge seems too thin and broke before we could put much tension on it.Will look at the 12 gauge. Recommendation: the tips kept falling out, especially the one for the Magna-Wire. If you can put a stronger magnet, that may solve it. Also, the studs are supposed to be able to be held at the top of the welder, but barely hold. Again, a stronger magnet should improve this. Recommend that they include some 12 gauge Magna-Wire in this kit. Read more
I have used the tool to pull deformations on wheel arches. Provides good control. Hammer has a good grip for strong pull-force. Read more
